Abstract:
A pipeline padding machine includes a debris-resistant escalator flight. A pipeline padding machine includes an escalator assembly with multiple flight sections attached to a track. A gap between leading and trailing edges of respective adjacent flight sections may be substantially the same when the track is substantially straight, and when the track is at its maximum curvature. Leading and trailing edge portions of each flight section may be angled relative to a longitudinal axis of a corresponding track section by a same angle as that between adjacent track sections when the track is at its maximum curvature. The edge portions of respective adjacent flight sections may be substantially parallel to each other when the track is at its maximum curvature.
Abstract:
A trench excavating machine includes an excavating wheel on which are mounted spaced apart peripheral plates equipped with ripping teeth and spades. The ripping teeth are angled outward from the plates at an acute angle directed in the direction of rotation of the cutting wheel to attack the leading edge of a trench being excavated. Ripping teeth and spades are arranged at varying spacing on succeeding plates about the centerline of the cutting wheel. A transverse conveyor located within the circumference of the cutting wheel transports spoil to the side of the cutting wheel. A spoil deflector removes spoil adhered to the inside of the cutting wheel.
Abstract:
An integrated padding machine that incorporates a front digging auger that is preferably mechanically as opposed to hydraulically powered, which in conjunction with a breaker bar assembly provides for digging and crushing capabilities, and that incorporates several other improvements and advances, including screen and cross-pass conveyor level control means, a real-time padding level monitoring system, and an assistant's control module, improved controls, dust control, and cold weather padding, and methods of using the machine.
Abstract:
The device is associated with a trench-digger, comprising a cutting disc (2) and a matching prefabricated element feeder that includes a sweeping box (32) with a U-shaped traversal section which is closed in the front by a rake (34) so that no earth can fall inside and means for pushing the matching prefabricated elements (33), comprising push wheels (7) that frictionally transmit a longitudinal push so that the various matching prefabricated elements (33) remain coupled when they are being lowered into the interior of the sweeping box (32). The sweeping box serves as temporary formwork of the trench, said box making it possible to lower and place the matching prefabricated elements (33) in the interior thereof automatically and reliably in an environment free from earth, thereby enabling perfect coupling.
Abstract:
In order that the novel conveyor belt bridge (5) can be loaded by a linearly moving mining or working device with a digger delivering in the direction of travel both for upward cutting and cutting below grade and can reach from the plane of cutting below grade to the upward cutting plane (6) via the plane (7) of the face conveyor (3) and vice versa, both the loading and discharge end of the bridge (5) is supported on its own chassis (8 or 9), the discharge side chassis (8) takes the form of a gantry and has a non-railbound running unit (drive track 10) on both sides of the face conveyor, the bridge (5) is supported on the discharge side chassis (8) about both a vertical and a horizontal axis (15 and 12) and on the loading side chassis (9) via a longitudinally movable single-point bearing (23) with a horizontal thrust bearing (18) and on the loading end has a loading boom (25) articulated about a horizontal transverse shaft (17a).
Abstract:
A soil displacement apparatus 10 includes at least one ground-engaging member 12 including an inclined cutting surface 14 and first and second lateral cutting surfaces 16 arranged along sides of the inclined cutting surface 14 and forming a channel 18 between them for in use channelling displaced soil away from the ground-engaging member 12.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a laying machine for laying at least one flexible casing or tube, cable or wire including: - a blade arrangement (2) for making a trench (5) in the ground, a consolidation and laying means (3) being arranged behind the blade arrangement (2), for clearing and safeguarding the trench (5) from collapsing while laying at least one flexible casing or tube, cable or wire into the trench. A blade assembly comprising compartments for cooling fluid.
Abstract:
A vehicle (10) is provided with a trench cutting apparatus (100) and is operable to cut a trench in a surface suitable for laying a cable in by applying the trench cutting apparatus (100) to the surface and moving forward. The vehicle (10) has a cab (11) in which an operator may sit and a rear portion (12). The trench cutting apparatus (100) is mounted on the front of the vehicle via a mounting structure (110) adapted to allow the trench cutting apparatus (100) to be moved relative to the vehicle (10). One element of motion is provided by the rotation of an upstanding limb (114) of the mounting structure (110) relative to a rotatable end mount (116). A second element of motion is provided by the rotation of an upstanding limb (112) of the mounting structure (110) within the bracket (111).
Abstract:
An excavator has a moving conveyor with vanes that penetrate the earth and section it. A cutter bar follows the vanes, cuts a section of earth loose and directs it to a lifting throat. The lifting throat, in combination with the conveyor and vanes, lifts the excavated earth into a hopper.
