Abstract:
An architectural molding (10) includes an extruded flexible plastic foam member (16) having a front side (22), a rear side (20) and a cross sectional profile (18). Also included is a layer of pressure sensitive adhesive (24, 26) affixed to at least a portion of the rear side and a release strip (28, 29) releasibly adhered to the layer of pressure sensitive adhesive.
Abstract:
A finishing device used to form a corner between two panels of drywall has a flexible joint (100) along a predetermined axis. Two wings (102, 104) are connected to and extend outwardly in a diverging relation from the flexible joint (100) to form a corner having an adjustable angle. Each wing (102, 104) has a front surface (106), a rear surface (108), and an edge distal (204) from the flexible joint (100). This edge (204) abuts one of said drywall panels and has a thickness of the drywall panel. Alternatively, the edge (204) has an adjustable thickness to fit various thicknesses of drywall panel. A layer of primer or adhesive laminate is applied to the front surface of the wings so that paint can bond to the front surface. The finishing device is capable of forming both inside and outside corners. To form inside corners, the finishing device bends along the flexible joint (100). To form outside corners, strips parallel to the flexible joint (100) are removed from the rear surface of the wings (102, 104) and the finishing device is folded along the openings thus created.
Abstract:
A handrail/leaning rail includes a mounting system adapted to be attached to a wall (20, 220, 1020, 1420, 1920, 2020) and an elongated rail (30, 130, 230, 530, 630, 1030, 1430, 1630, 1730, 1830, 1930, 2030) separate from the mounting system and removably attached to the mounting system. The rail has a handgrip portion (e.g., 32, 232, 632, 1032) having a top surface and undercut front and rear surfaces shaped for grasping by a user, the rear surface being positioned on the rail to be spaced apart from the wall. A safety blocking portion (e.g., 40, 140, 240, 540, 640, 1040, 2040) that is longitudinally coextensive with the handgrip portion and extends rearwardly from a lower base portion of the rear surface of the handgrip portion blocks a gap that would otherwise be left between the lower base portion of the handgrip portion and the wall. The rail also has a wall shield flange portion (e.g., 44, 144, 244, 544, 644, 1044, 2044) that extends upwardly from the safety blocking portion and is spaced apart from the rear surface of the handgrip portion.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a height-adjustable bridging arrangement (1) for joints between floor coverings, comprising an upper element (2) and a base element (3). The upper element (2) is provided with an upper retaining bar (4) with a holding device (5) arranged on both sides thereof. Said bars (6, 6') are directed upwards and are arranged on the base element, encompassing both sides of the holding device of the upper retaining bar (4). Additional holding devices (5') are also provided. A support device (8) is arranged between the upper element (2) and the base element (3) to prevent the upper element (2) from tilting.
Abstract:
The invention features a flexible strip (10) having one or more longitudinally extending inserts (20, 21, 23) which provide the protective strip (10) with greater impact resistance, greater strength and an improved locking action in the mounting member (18). The resilient strip (14) preferably includes a pair of oppositely disposed, inwardly extending latch members (42) which include inserts to provide the improved locking action. The mounting member (18) preferably includes a web portion having a pair of oppositely disposed web-latch extensions (66) extending across a chord of the body (22), substantially parallel to a tangent to the circumference of the body (22) at its mid-line (72), and at least one leg member (76) extending from the web portion away from the body (22).
Abstract:
A house trim for covering siding (12) located adjacent window and door casings or house corners comprising an elongated L-shaped facing strip (30) which may be placed over the siding ends and nailed to the house along at least one longitudinal edge region (48). A C-shaped hem strip (32) integrally or separately supported along this edge so as to cover the nails with at least one leg of the hem strip adapted to be snapped into tight frictional engagement with the outer side of a longitudinal flange (50) of the facing strip located in parallel spaced relations to this edge.
Abstract:
A device (31) for assembling frames and frame mouldings which utilizes a monolithic assembly part (31) forming a double tenon, and having the shape of two identical circular truncated cones whose height is essentially equal to three quarters of the thickness of the parts (32, 33) to be assembled. Said assembly part is inserted into the blind drilling holes (34, 25) of a corresponding form provided on the edge of the joint surfaces of the parts to be assembled. It is designed for assembling, with or without glue, wooden parts or other materials, such as frame moulds, comprising mitre joints. The machine for cutting mitre joints for the implementation of said assembly device (31) includes a sealed housing (1) provided with two circular saw blades (4, 5) perpendicular between themselves and operated by a single motor (2). The housing is vertically mobile in relation to a work surface (3) provided with means for securing the part to be cut. Two conical milling cutters (28) located under the work surface together bore the holes (34, 35) in the parts (32, 33) to be assembled.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates a building surface accessory comprising an elongated body having a length that extends from a first end to a second end, the elongated body having an inside surface, an outside surface, a first edge, and a second edge, and an adhesive sheet having an outside surface coupled to the elongated body, an inside surface, and pressure sensitive adhesive on at least a portion of the inside surface, wherein the adhesive sheet is embossed such that the pressure sensitive adhesive has a plurality of raised portions.
Abstract:
A wallboard fastening device secures first and second wallboards to a framing member without fasteners passing through the wallboards. The device includes first and second framing panels joined along lengthwise edges at a frame seam to form a two-sided frame that fits around the framing member. The device includes first and second flat-spring flanges joined along lengthwise edges at a front seam. The device includes a channel-dividing panel joined lengthwise to the front seam and to the second framing panel to form first and second channels that are sized to receive edges of the wallboards. The device includes a guide flange joined lengthwise to the frame seam. A corner edge of the second wallboard may be pushed against the guide flange such that the corner edge slides along the guide flange, thereby guiding the second wallboard into the second channel.
