Abstract:
Abstract:
The specification discloses a method for containing spills on shelving and the like, and the resulting support members made in accordance with the method, by providing the generally flat top surface of a support with a hydrophobic surface which is arranged in a spill containment pattern and which is generally in the plane of the top surface of the support. The majority of the top surface of the support consists of one or more spill containment areas which are of a non-hydrophobic nature and which are bounded by the hydrophobic surfaces, such that spills on the shelving collect in the non-hydrophobic spill containment area or areas and are prevented from spreading by the hydrophobic surfaces.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an additional element (1) for attaching a rear wall (3) to furniture parts made of lightweight structural panels (5), having at least one connecting surface (7) for fastening on at least one cover panel (9) of the furniture part (5), and having at least one receiving channel (11) for receiving the periphery of the rear wall. This additional element solves the technical problem of providing a way of straightforwardly connecting a rear wall to a frameless lightweight structural panel. The invention also relates to a furniture part and to a piece of furniture. Figure 1 is the figure intended for the abstract.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a protecting apparatus (10) for protecting a structure (100) from an impact. The protecting apparatus (10) is arranged to be mounted on the structure (100) and includes a bumper member (12), a structure positioning member (14) and at least one resiliently flexible joining portion (16). The structure positioning member (14) is arranged in use to be positioned in contact with or adjacent to a portion of the structure (100) being protected. The at least one resiliently flexible joining portion (16) extends between the bumper member (12) and the structure positioning member (14) so that when an outer surface (12a) of the bumper member (12) is impacted, the impact force is dissipated at least in part by flexure of the at least one joining portion (16).
Abstract:
A flexible ornamental or protective plastic molding strip (10) has an inserted flexible decorative cord (26) also formed from flexible plastic. The flexible molding strip (10) which serves as a base strip has an exposed outer surface (24) that is usually smoothly countered but can, if desired, be provided with longitudinally extending depressed or projecting surface decoration. In the exposed outer surface (24) are one or more longitudinally extending grooves (18a). Into each groove (18a) is inserted one of the flexible decorative cords (26), preferably of a color selected to provide an appealing visual effect, usually a color which contrasts with the color of the base strip (10) itself. The decorative cord (26) can be easily inserted into the groove (18a) by pressing it into place either at the factory or at the job site, to harmonize with the decor. The cord (26) can be removed and replaced at any time desired, yet will be held securely in the groove (18a) by its contact with the walls of the groove (18a) during normal use.
Abstract:
An edge strip to cover an edge of an item such as a window pane has a press lock action by having an outer cover portion and an inner gripping portion where the inner gripping portion can hinge towards and grip the edge as the edge is inserted into the edge strip.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a protection device (1) for protecting a rack system against impact, comprising an outer shell (2) which is configured to be fitted on an upright column of a rack system, and an inner element (3) which is provided in the outer shell (2) and is made of a flexible material and which, in use, is arranged against or adjacent to a part of the column, in which the inner element (3) is hingeably connected to the inner periphery of the outer shell (2) by its longitudinal ends (6), so that the inner element (3) bends in the direction of the outer shell (2) upon impact so that this outer shell (2) is clamped more securely to the column onto which this outer shell (2) is fitted.
Abstract:
There is provided a protector (10) for protecting a structure (1) from impact. The protector is generally elongate and includes a mouth (16) that is able to open to accommodate the structure. The mouth is biased towards a closed position so that the mouth grips the structure to hold it in place. The mouth is provided by a pair of opposed jaws (12, 14) and an inner plate (18) provided to act as a stop for the mouth. A bumper (28) is provided that extends spaced from the inner plate. The protector further includes at least one angled linear web (30) that extends between the inner plate and bumper at a front of the protector. Advantageously, it has been found that as the bumper crushes, the angled linear web and the side connection of the bumper combine to cause the bumper to spread outwardly and around the structure thereby acting to deflect the force of the impact around the structure. Such deflection reduces the damage to the structure.
Abstract:
Abstract:
When furniture boards (1 ) are to be surface-treated with a covering layer and finished such that the board edges (2) are covered completely, the method according to the invention is useful as it ensures an undamaged board edge with an unbroken moisture barrier. The method comprises bevelling of the corner (2, 6, 7) with subsequent application (3, 3a) of a covering layer in so ample amounts that the subse- quent working can take place without the covering layer being penetrated.
