Abstract:
An exercise device (20) includes a frame (22) and a drive mechanism (100) attached to the frame. The drive mechanism includes a first shaft (122) having a first fixed gear (128) and a second shaft (124) having a second fixed gear (130). The first fixed gear and the second fixed gear are mechanically linked to cause the first shaft to rotate in an opposite direction than the second shaft. A first linear input is mechanically linked to the first shaft and a second linear input is mechanically linked to the second shaft.
Abstract:
An exercise machine provides a total body workout by exercising the legs, back, shoulders, obliques and abdominal muscles. The machine's backrest rolls is in phase with the movement of the legs, allowing the body to sit in a position that is comfortable and secure. The spinal column is continually supported during the workout. Pedal movement powers the machine's electronics and maintains the battery's charge.

Abstract:
A lower body exercise device for use in a sitting position includes a base plate (10) placed on a floor; pivot frame portions (20a and 20b) having first ends which are pivotably coupled to one end of the base plate (10) and second ends to which pedal portions (22a and 22b) are attached; repulsive members (30a and 30b) installed between the base plate (10) and the pivot frame portions (20a and 20b) such that a pivot frame composed of the pivot frame portions (20a and 20b) can be pressed and pivoted toward the base plate (10) by external force and the repulsive members (30a and 30b) can upwardly bias the pivot frame to an original position when the external force is removed; and pedal force adjustment means (40) for adjusting pedal force of the pedal portions (22a and 22b) by varying elasticity of the repulsive members (30a and 30b).
Abstract:
A variable stride device may include right and left foot engagement members operatively coupled to right and left cam-link assemblies, respectively. The cam-link assemblies may each be operatively coupled to a rotating member, such as a crank assembly, and to right and left swing arms, respectively. The cam-link assemblies may each include a cam member and first and second links. A user may engage the foot engagement members to move the foot engagement members in a substantially constant or variable elliptical, pseudo-elliptical or other stride path. The variable stride device may further include a resistance system for resisting movement of the foot engagement members.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an exercising device (10, 10a) with combined stepping and twisting functions comprising a base member (11), a stepper mounting means (12) mounted on the base member (11), a stepper assembly (13) pivotably and rotatably secured with respect to the mounting means (12) and base member (11) in a manner that the stepper assembly (13) is capable of performing simultaneously or one at a time stepping and twisting functions through an engaging rotatable mechanism (14) into which the stepper assembly (13) is movably engaged through a linkage means (15), and a selecting means (16) for selectively activating or deactivating the functions being provided thereto. The characterizing features of the invention include the stepper mounting means (12) and engaging rotatable mechanism (14), preferably also a stepper resistance-providing mechanism, that are lockably and horizontally rotatable relative to each other and the base member (11) at a common axis of rotation (17) located proximate the central section of the device (10, 10a), such that a stepping function is activated solely when the mounting means (12) is made non-rotatable relative to the base member (11) while the mechanism (14) being in a rotatable state relative to the mounting means (12); a twisting function is activated solely when the mechanism (14) is made non- rotatable relative to the mounting means (12) while the mounting means (12) being in a rotatable state relative to the base member (11); and combined stepping and twisting functions are activated simultaneously when the mechanism (14) is made non-rotatable relative to the base member (11) while the mounting means (12) being in a rotatable state relative to the base member (11) and the mechanism (14).
Abstract:
A non-impact exercise device comprising a framework, resistance assembly, and a pivoting assembly. The pivoting assembly contains a pair of link arms pivotally coupled to a pair of foot support members. The link arms have handles for the user to grip and the foot support members have foot platforms for the user to stand upon. The foot platforms have a wheel attached to them and the wheel rests upon curved or arced ramps of the exercise device. The user exercises by putting force into the device through the handles and/or foot platforms. This causes the foot platforms to roll along the ramps while the user is standing upon the foot platforms. The user may readily vary the length and frequency of the reciprocating stride.
Abstract:
An adjustable exercise device that includes one or more inclined riser blocks for readily elevating and inclining a platform to enable stepping and other exercises to be readily performed on an inclined platform. The inclined riser blocks may be matingly engageable with the bottom of the platform to elevate and incline the platform. The inclined riser block may include a top face matingly engageable with the bottom of the platform, a bottom face, and a central portion extending between the bottom and top faces and having a front and rear, the central portion increasing in thickness from the front to the rear. The top face extends at an incline.
