Abstract:
Embodiments for data dependent boosted (DDB) bit cells that may allow for smaller minimum cell supplies (Vmin) without necessarily having to increase device dimensions are presented.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus to provide cryptographic integrity checks and replay protection to protect against hardware attacks on system memory is provided. A mode of operation for block ciphers enhances the standard XTS-AES mode of operation to perform memory encryption by extending a tweak to include a "time stamp" indicator. A tree-based replay protection scheme uses standard XTS-AES to encrypt contents of a cache line in the system memory. A Message-Authentication Code (MAC) for the cache line is encrypted using enhanced XTS-AES and a "time stamp" indicator associated with the cache line. The "time stamp indicator" is stored in a processor.
Abstract:
Methods of dicing semiconductor wafers, each wafer having a plurality of integrated circuits, are described. A method includes forming a mask above the semiconductor wafer. The mask is composed of a layer covering and protecting the integrated circuits. The mask is patterned with a galvanic laser scribing process to provide a patterned mask with gaps. The patterning exposes regions of the semiconductor wafer between the integrated circuits. The semiconductor wafer is then etched through the gaps in the patterned mask to singulate the integrated circuits.
Abstract:
Methods of dicing substrates by both laser scribing and plasma etching. A method includes forming an in-situ mask with a plasma etch chamber by accumulating a thickness of plasma deposited polymer to protect IC bump surfaces from a subsequent plasma etch. Second mask materials, such as a water soluble mask material may be utilized along with the plasma deposited polymer. At least some portion of the mask is patterned with a femtosecond laser scribing process to provide a patterned mask with trenches. The patterning exposing regions of the substrate between the ICs in which the substrate is plasma etched to singulate the IC and the water soluble material layer washed off.
Abstract:
Methods of and hybrid factories for thin-film battery manufacturing are described. A method includes operations for fabricating a thin-film battery. A hybrid factory includes one or more tool sets for fabricating a thin-film battery. In an example, a hybrid factory layout for lithium-based thin-film battery manufacturing includes a process tool for depositing active layers. The process tool includes a cluster tool for deposition of an active layer. The hybrid factory layout also includes an in-line tool for deposition of an active layer and a lithium evaporation tool having one or more gloveboxes coupling the lithium evaporation tool to the cluster tool and to the in-line tool.
Abstract:
Several methods, devices and systems for correcting rolling shutter artifacts are described. In one embodiment, an image capturing system includes a rolling shutter image sensor that may cause a rolling shutter artifact (e.g., warping). The system includes a processing system that is configured to perform an automatic rolling shutter correction mechanism that utilizes calibration data based on a relationship between pixel locations in an image plane of the image sensor and their corresponding rays of light in a coordinate space. The rolling shutter mechanism determines pixel velocity components based on the calibration data and estimates for each image an aggregate pixel velocity based on an aggregation of the pixel velocity components.
Abstract:
A system and method are described for dynamically routing push notifications to users over the most efficient network path. For example, in one embodiment, presence information associated with a device of a user is monitored. The presence information indicates whether the first device is currently connected to a wireless network and a current network location of the device. The channel quality for packets transmitted between the first device and a first gateway and between the first device and a second gateway is also monitored and is used to select between the first and second gateways when transmitting push notifications.
Abstract:
Assemblies and methods of inserting a delivery catheter assembly into a working channel are disclosed. In accordance with some embodiments, a delivery catheter assembly is disclosed in which a tip protector sleeve is locked onto an elongated catheter sheath and slideable over a length of the elongated catheter sheath between a proximal-stop position and a distal-stop position along the elongated catheter sheath. In accordance with some embodiments, a sealing cap is disclosed in which a proximal seal of the sealing cap is configured to reduce fluid leakage when a delivery system is inserted through the proximal seal, and a self closing seal of the sealing cap is configured to reduce fluid leakage when a delivery system is not inserted into the sealing cap.
Abstract:
A system and method are described for providing friend recommendations. In one embodiment, a new user's address book is traversed to identify email addresses of existing users of the online service. Existing users of the online service having email addresses identified in the new user's address book are recommended to be friends of the new user on the online service. Additionally, embodiments of the invention traverse various social graphs of current users to identify users with common contacts or friends to the new user. Those users sharing common contacts or friends may also be recommended as friends of the new user.
Abstract:
An electronic device is configured to manage heat in the device using a multi¬ level thermal management process. When the temperature of the device reaches a level that requires the device to take action to adjust its thermal behavior, a system level controller identifies a component in the device as being active and that can be controlled to adjust heat generation in the device. Once an active component is identified, a component level controller sets an activity limit for the identified active component that is at or above a minimum activity limit of the component and prevents the component from operating above this activity limit. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.
