Abstract:
The present invention relates to a module (50) for generating integrated decoding circuits for use, in particular, in turbo devices, to the method for defining the characteristics of and generating convolutional decoding circuits, and to the circuit that can be obtained with said module (50). The module (50) is parametric and, thanks to this feature, makes it possible to generate decoding circuits having different performance characteristics which are such that they can be used in turbo devices employing different decoding modes and different architectures. In addition, the module (50) makes it possible to generate decoding circuits whose distinguishing feature is that they can manage a plurality of generator polynomials selectively and can thus be used in asymmetrical turbo devices.
Abstract:
An iterative power raising circuit, such as a squarer (10) comprises a module (13, 14) able to subdivide the respective input signal (Z n ) into a first part (msb(Z n )) that is the power of 2 immediately lower than or equal to the input signal and a second part (Z n - msb(Z n )) corresponding to the difference between the respective input signal and the first part. A first component of the output signal is determined as the summation of squares of powers of 2 implemented by inserting zeros between the adjacent bits of the input binary signal (X). A shifter module (15) generates an additional component of the output signal through shift operations that implement multiplication operations for numbers that are powers of 2. The circuit operates according to a general iterative scheme and the number of steps in the iteration scheme is selectively controllable in order selectively to vary the precision with which the output value (Y) is calculated.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a system (10) and method for making electronic circuits comprising elements or elementary circuit blocks which can be implemented either in the form of physical circuits, for instance FPGA, or in the form of firmware, for instance memorised on microprocessor. Thanks to the methodology used to describe the circuit blocks (26a, 26b) and their functional models (21), the system (10) and method allow to execute with a WS (11) and an emulator subsystem (30), in a single integrated environment, both the functional simulation of the model of complex electronic circuit and the emulation of the electronic circuit itself. Moreover, thanks to the characteristics of intrinsic congruence between the circuit blocks (26a, 26b) and their models (21), the emulation of the complex electronic circuit can be effected using alternatively circuit blocks implemented on the emulator subsystem either in the form of hardware (26a) or in the form of firmware (26b).
Abstract:
The procedure for transmitting SMS messages with protected identity prevents the recipient of an SMS message from seeing the caller's telephone number, and therefore the corresponding personal data, but allows him to contact the caller by sending an SMS message. During the procedure, the service manager ciphers the user's telephone number, contained in the message header, and then subsequently deciphers it to restore the original telephone number.
Abstract:
This invention refers to a method(10) for assessing the characteristics obtainable in a network for mobile telecommunications apparatuses suitable for managing calls with both data traffic and/or voice and data traffic. On the basis of the performance requested for the quantity (20, 30) and characteristics (40, 50) of the traffic required, the method (10) provides a simple manner for determining both the effective performance (70) of the network, in terms of the probability of complete occupation of the radio channels and the probability of dropped calls during the peak traffic periods, and optimal dimensioning (60) of the network.
Abstract:
A supranational and inter-PLMN physical private mobile telecommunications network includes at least one first (1) and one second (2) physical node that can cooperate with the respective different public mobile networks (PLMN1, PLMN2), preferably located in different countries. These physical nodes have respective functionalities selected from the group consisting of: - masking functionality (M1, M2) to handle the interworking with the respective public mobile network (PLMN1, PLMN2), - filtering functionality (FI, F2) to analyse the numbering of the internal called/calling customer in relation to the identity of the calling/called party, - a functionality managing the coordination and intelligent services (INC1 INC2), which can control the call between the physical node of origin and the physical node visited, and thus permits the management of the virtual user mobility between the physical nodes as they are involved as well as the invocation of the intelligent services provided inside the different physical nodes, and - an interworking functionality (ITW1, ITW2) configured so as to permit the interworking between signalling on Internet Protocol network (IP) and a circuit-switching signalling.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a system and related device for emulating the behaviour of mobile networks independently from the manners of collecting data about the behaviour of the network, be they obtained through a simulation of field measurements. The system emulates the behaviour of the network during the exchange of information between terminals and uses an emulation device (12) comprising two circuit blocks (20, 30) able, respectively, the first to process the information according to time sequences corresponding to those of mobile networks, the second one to exchange information between the terminals connected to suitable interfaces (35, 36). Thanks to the architecture described above it is possible to emulate uplink and downlink functions of the mobile network, making perceptible on the terminals the effects of the behaviour of the network in the various operating conditions.
Abstract:
The method for evaluating electrical field levels in the near-zone of transmitting antennas, particularly linear array antenna widely used in cellular telephony systems, provides accurate evaluation while requiring reduced processing times and a restricted set of input data, such as physical external dimensions of the antenna, its gain and its radiation patterns in the vertical plane and in the horizontal plane.
Abstract:
Method for cellular telephony mobile equipment location data transmission, in which an application, preferably installed on the SIM card, measures the Base Transceiver Stations in the serving cell and the neighbouring cells, detecting, storing and transmitting respective information to a remote Service Centre by means of SMS messages, where a processing system, applying an appropriate algorithm and a Base Transceiver Stations geographic position database, computes the geographical position of the mobile equipment. Transmission is made using a compressed format which requires a very low number of SMS messages.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a device (11), system (10) and method for programming and reproducing events, for instance television events, wherein the device (11) is able to prearrange, based on a list of events accessible by a user and of demands expressed by the same user, a programming guide, corresponding to the expressed demands. The device (11) implements one or more modules, representative of one or more Expert modules and/or of one or more parameter class generators, and is able to combine both the Expert modules and the parameter classes to prearrange the programming guide of the events. Thanks to the capability of using multiple Experts and/or multiple parameter classes, the device (11) allows to obtain, in flexible fashion, event programming results that are particularly close to the user's demands.
