Abstract: A track assembly (14) for a machine (10) includes a track (16) having inner track seals (54a, 54b), a rotatable track engaging element (20) such as an idler or drive sprocket and a contact interface (40a, 40b) or protecting the seals (54a, 54b) during guiding the track (16) about the rotatable element (20). The contact interface (40a, 40b) may include sacrificial wear material (42a, 42b) on the rotatable element (20) and sacrificial wear material (44a, 44b) on corresponding track links (24a, 24b). The contact interface (40a, 40b) may have a configuration based on a location of the seals (54a, 54b), and is adapted to inhibit wear of the track links (24a, 24b) in regions adjacent the seals (54a, 54b). In another aspect, the contact interface (40a, 40b, 140a) is a guide interface (40a, 40b).
