Abstract:
A solution storage and dispensing apparatus and method of operation therefor are disclosed. The solution storage and dispensing apparatus includes a selector valve (68) and a control valve (62) which selectively output a liquid such as water to one of a plurality of storage containers (11a, 11b, 11c, 11d). Each container (11) has an aspirator (26) mounted therein which receives the water and a chemical concentrate to form a solution therein. A container is filled by selecting the container using the selector valve and actuating the control valve to dispense water to the selected container.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a dispenser (10) for use with an automatic floor scrubbing machine (75), and a method for cleaning a floor. The dispenser (10) has a solid chemical (13) which is dissolved by water spray from a spray nozzle (21). The detergent solution is then directed by a conduit (25) to a scrub brush (85). A water reservoir (83) provides water for the detergent solution, and a valve (38) directs water to a rinse conduit (37) for rinsing of the floor. After cleaning, the dirty water or detergent solution is carried through conduit (36) to a recovery tank (84).
Abstract:
Disclosed is a dispenser (10) for a solid chemical (13) and a method of dispensing the chemical (13). Water enters via an inlet line (22) and is sprayed from a spray nozzle (21), so that the solid chemical (13) is dispensed in the form of an aqueous chemical solution via outlet line (17). The solution's concentration is adjustable by varying the distance between the spray nozzle (21) and the exposed dissolving surface of the chemical (13). A pair of cam members (50, 51) adjust the vertical position of the solid chemical (13) with respect to the spray nozzle (21). In a preferred embodiment, a visual indication of the concentration settings is provided, with the concentration settings corresponding to the nozzle-to-eroding surface distance.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an indicator (15, 35) for determining the level of contents in an opaque, plastic container (10). The container (10) is filled with a solid chemical (11), such as a detergent. A spray of warm or hot water (19) impinges upon the eroding surface (16) of the solid chemical (11) to produce a chemical solution. The container (10) is provided with a thermochromatic strip (15, 35) for detecting the level of solid chemical (11) within the plastic capsule (10). A method of dispensing a solid chemical (11) and a dispensing container (10) are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A dispenser (10) uses first and second flow controls (70, 73). The flow controls maintain first and second flow ranges independent of diluent pressure within a pressure range, wherein the use solution's concentration is maintained over the pressure range. A third flow control (75) may also be utilized in a third diluent passageway for maintaining a third flow range independent of the diluent pressure within the pressure range. A bypass valve assembly (41) is operatively connected to the third incoming diluent passageway. The bypass valve has a temperature control valve. The temperature control valve having a bypass passageway, wherein additional diluent is added to the use solution, thereby controlling the use solution's concentration.
Abstract:
An upright product outlet bag evacuation packaging (100, 200) includes a flexible, collapsible bag (101, 201) and a spout (116, 216) that contains and dispenses a liquid (118, 218). The bag (101, 201) includes a first wall (102, 202) and a second wall (104, 204) that are operatively connected by a seam (106, 206). When the bag (101, 201) is filled with liquid (118, 218), the first wall (102, 202) and the second wall (104, 204) are pushed away from one another thereby pulling a first side (109, 209) inward and causing an indentation (114, 214) to form. The indentation (114, 214) hinders flush contact between the first wall (102, 202) and the second wall (104, 204) as the bag (101, 201) progressively collapses as the liquid (118, 218) is dispensed. A housing (300, 400) for use with a dispenser may be used to create and reinforce the indentation (114, 214). The housing (300, 400) includes a cavity (303, 403) configured and arranged to receive the bag (101, 201). A door (302, 402) is operatively connected to the housing and includes a bar member (304, 404) which extends into the cavity (303, 304). The bar member (304, 404) contacts the bag (101, 201) with the cavity (303, 304) to create and reinforce the indentation (114, 214).
Abstract:
The invention relates to an apparatus for diluting liquid concentrate materials to liquid use solutions. An aspirator system (16) is adapted to receive a container (11a) of liquid concentrate in a reservoir (10). The reservoir contains means (13) to open the liquid concentrate. Additionally the reservoir contains means to support the liquid concentrate during addition of concentrate to the reservoir. When empty, the liquid concentrate bottle can be placed in a reservoir for the empty container (11b). The receiver has filling means for the container that can deliver dilute use solution to the container. The liquid concentrate container and the dilute use solution container are substantially identical. The apparatus is controlled using a flow controller (14) that activates liquid diluent causing the liquid diluent to pass through the aspirator drawing concentrate at a fixed dilution ratio. The aspirator can be used in a station with multiple apparatus, each adapted to a particular liquid concentrate and dilute use solution. The typical container for such a station comprises a plastic bottle (11) having a fitment adapted to the receiver opening means. The preferred container for the liquid concentrate contains a fitment comprising a closure for the bottle opening having impressed into the closure a circular indent operatively connected with a thick hinge member. When inserted into the reservoir, the opening means causes the fitment to fail at the circular indent resulting in a clean separation of the circular portion from the closure permitting the contents of the concentrate container to drain into the reservoir.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a clinic sink system and method for precleaning soiled articles, such as diapers, hand towels, washcloths, personal linens, general bed linens, and bedpans soiled with human waste products. A method is provided which is capable of precleaning soiled articles prior to cleaning in a conventional washing machine. In a preferred embodiment, odors may be controlled by introducing a deodorizing agent into solution with water sprayed from a dispenser onto an article, and disease may be controlled by introducing a sanitizing agent into the solution. A preferred dispenser (10) for use therewith includes a container (18) and a base (12) which form a substantially sealed reservoir. Such a dispenser is capable of providing a controlled concentration of chemical product in solution.
Abstract:
A system for proportioning and dispensing concentrated liquid products is disclosed. The components of the system's first embodiment are mounted upon a cart (12). A concentrate solution tube (14) is interconnected to a dilution assembly (61) containing an aspirator (26). A water supply assembly (69), containing a valve (75) and backflow preventer (74), is connected to the aspirator assembly (26) when dilution of the concentrated product (13) is desired. A discharge tube (68) carries the diluted product from the aspirator assembly (26) to a container (60). The system's second embodiment has a spray gun assembly (150) containing an aspirator (167), a valve (166), and preferably though not necessarily, a backflow preventer (165). The concentrate pickup tube (114) attaches to the spray gun assembly (150) with a releasable connector (170). The spray gun assembly has a rigid delivery tube (153) for dispensing to large containers (160), and a nozzle tip (180) for attachment to an inlet port (119) of a jug (111). Also disclosed is a method for dispensing and handling solutions.
