Abstract:
A product dispenser and carrier (10) for attachment to a surface such as an inner surface of a dryer includes a plate member (11) and a product carrier (21). The plate member (11) attaches to the surface and the product carrier (21) releasably attaches to the plate member (11). Product (31) is operatively connected to the product carrier (21).
Abstract:
Disclosed is a dispenser (10) for a solid chemical (13) and a method of dispensing the chemical (13). Water enters via an inlet line (22) and is sprayed from a spray nozzle (21), so that the solid chemical (13) is dispensed in the form of an aqueous chemical solution via outlet line (17). The solution's concentration is adjustable by varying the distance between the spray nozzle (21) and the exposed dissolving surface of the chemical (13). The spray nozzle's position is adjusted by means of a screw jack (68), a push-pull cable (93), a solenoid (100), or a lever (117).
Abstract:
A multiple product dispensing system (100) includes a plurality of use solution dispensers (10a, 10b, 10c) and a controller (110) for selecting one of the dispensers (10a, 10b, 10c) according to a preset regimen, e.g., selecting different dispensers on different days of the week. Each dispenser (10a, 10b, 10c) dispenses a controlled concentration of use solution using a diluent delivery apparatus (13) that delivers a diluent to form a liquid concentrate from a solid chemical composition (22), and to form make-up diluent for diluting the liquid concentrate and forming a use solution of controlled concentration. A foam reducer (24) reduces the kinetic energy of the make-up diluent prior to mixing with the liquid concentrate to reduce foaming. An unskilled operator may operate the dispensing system (100) to dispense a use solution of carefully controlled concentration, and the controller (110) will automatically select the proper dispenser according to the preset regimen, without any additional input on the part of the operator. Therefore, the likelihood of operator error occurring is greatly reduced by the automatic selection of the proper dispenser (10a, 10b, 10c) and the control over use solution concentration.
Abstract:
Methods of dispensing an ingredient and measuring an amount of the ingredient dispensed, e.g., at a customer's location usually as the ingredient is used by the customer, in order to improve the dispensing process by adjusting future dispense cycles, accurately dispensing the ingredient, predicting an amount of ingredient to be dispensed.
Abstract:
An apparatus for creating a use solution of a concentrate diluted, with a dilution rate of not more than 1:130, into a diluent flowing under pressure in a line. A normally-closed, user activatable valve is operatively coupled in the line allowing the diluent to flow in the line upon user activation. A flow regulator is operatively coupled in the line downstream of the valve, configured to maintain a constant flow rate for the diluent in the line. A constant flow rate pump having an inlet and an outlet is operatively coupled to the valve. The inlet is adapted to be operatively fluidly coupled to the concentrate. The outlet is fluidly coupled to the line downstream of the flow regulator.
Abstract:
A dispensing device (10) for dispensing a measured amount of a chemical (60) into a fluid piping system including a cap member (24) having a fluid inlet port (33) and a fluid outlet port (34) between which is a tubular flow conduit (28). The cap member (24) also includes by pass and control members (44), which align with an inlet passageway (36) and an outlet passageway (42) in the cap member (24). Fluid flows into the cap member (24) through the inlet port (33). The tubular flow conduit (28) has the inlet passageway (36) therein to divert a portion of the fluid passing through the system into a canister (11) operatively connected to the cap (24). A container (16) is disposed within the canister (11) containing the chemical (60), which is partially dissolved by fluid introduced into the container (16) to create a use solution. The use solution passes out of the canister (11) through the outlet passageway (42) in the tubular flow conduit (28) located downstream from the inlet passageway (36) and is reintroduced into the fluid system to flow out of the outlet port (34). The bypass and control members (44) may be used in variable positions to control and meter the amount of use solution being dispensed.
Abstract:
A method and system provide an automated cleaning apparatus (20) for cleaning various types of articles, wherein each type of article is detected and washed according to its own pre-determined combination. The cleaning apparatus has a storage device (32) storing an array of pre-determined chemical combinations and cleaning parameters, including specifying cleaning chemicals to be used on the various identified article types. A transponder (23) is provided with identifying information of the article type. A transceiver detects the type of article from the transponder and communicates that identifying information to a processor. Based on the detected identifier, the processor selects from the storage device the proper chemical combination and cleaning parameters for washing the identified type of article. A control device coupled to the processor delivers the chemicals specified by the selected chemical combination. Finally, a cleaning subsystem coupled to the processor cleans the articles using the delivered chemicals and other specified parameters.
Abstract:
A low product level detector is disclosed which utilizes a sensor comprised of an infrared emitter (103) and receiver (104) to project a beam of light (105) across a cavity/enclosure which contains a solid product (65). When the product reaches a level at which more solid product should be added, an alarm indicia means is triggered. The alarm indicia means is comprised of an audible horn (106) and a visually perceptible light (107). The low product alarm is utilized in a dispenser (10) for dispensing a wash chemical solution which has been created by dissolving a solid wash chemical in a diluent. By maintaining a predetermined amount of solid wash chemical in the dispenser, the wash chemical solution maintains a more constant concentration.
Abstract:
A device and method for cleaning and deororizing a unit having an enclosed space not otherwise easily accessible for cleaning and doedorizing. A variety of containers holding compositions for generating an antimicrobially active gas may be employed therein. One such container includes a unitary container housing having a plurality of sealed compartments. Each compartment contains a composition for generating an antimicrobially active gas upon exposure to moist air. The container may be employed in other applications as well.
Abstract:
Method of cleaning a hard surface (e.g. floor) in order to remove a complex soil comprises contacting the surface with a first cleaning composition which has a non-neutral pH and then contacting the surface with a second cleaning composition which has a complementary non-neutral pH to that of the first cleaning composition. (The term "complementary" refers to acidic or alkaline as appropriate). Mechanical force may be employed during the application of either or both of the cleaning compositions.
