Abstract:
본 발명은 흡수패드나 커플링 장치를 사용하지 않고서 치료부위에 동결방지제를 바른 후 필름으로 감싸 피부를 보호하면서 지방부분만 냉각시켜 비만을 치료할 수 있는 저비용의 냉각을 이용한 비만치료 장치에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 장치는 냉각온도와 동작시간을 설정하고, 열전소자를 냉각시키기 위한 냉각수를 공급함과 아울러 진공펌프를 통해 흡인력을 제공하는 컨트롤러 본체; 작동상태를 표시함과 아울러 석션 홀을 통해 흡인력을 제공하는 핸드피스 몸체; 상기 컨트롤러 본체와 상기 핸드피스 몸체를 연결하기 위한 케이블; 상기 핸드피스 몸체에 장착되어 흡인공간을 형성하는 석션 컵; 및 상기 석션 컵의 양측에 위치하여 흡인공간으로 흡인된 치료부위를 냉각시키기 위한 냉각장치로 이루어지고, 치료부위에 도포된 동결 방지제를 밀봉하여 치료부위에 동결 방지제가 침투되는 것을 촉진시키고, 동결 방지제가 석션 컵에 묻는 것을 차단하기 위한 필름을 더 포함할 수 있다. 본 발명에 따르면, 금속성 냉각 플레이트가 실리콘 재질의 석션 컵에 인몰드되어 치료부위와 직접 접촉하지 않고 얇은 실리콘 막을 통해 접촉함으로써 소량의 동결 방지제로 피부를 보호하면서 지방을 효율적으로 파괴할 수 있고, 공기가 유입될 틈이 제거되어 흡인력이 향상되며, 라이너나 흡수패드, 및 커플링 장치를 사용하지 않아 비용을 줄일 수 있다.

A process of massaging a subject is provided that includes the provision of a vibratory massage roller having a casing with a casing surface extending over a length of the vibratory roller. A motor in included in the housing and is electrically coupled to a power source. The power source is energized to induce a vibratory amplitude to the surface that varies less than 30 amplitude percent across the central 70 percent of the length. The massage roller is contacted with the subject to massage the subject.

A head piece for cold therapy comprises a Peltier cell with electrical supply means (2) for said Peltier cell, which is located between two conducting plates (3, 4), a first (3) cold conducting plate which will remain facing the patient's skin and a second heat conducting plate (4) in contact with cooling means (5) thereof, means for measuring the temperature (12) of first conducting plate (3) with said head piece also being connected to an impeller pump and a heat exchanger located outside the head piece and in that first conducting plate (3) is coated with a low thermal conductivity material, and in that it comprises vibration means (7) connected to said first conducting plate (3) which vibrates while cold is transmitted to the patient's skin.

The present invention provides a practical method for treating atopic dermatitis. By subjecting patients suffering from atopic dermatitis to filtered temperature controiled laminar air flow disease symptoms have been significantly reduced and even removed. The present invention relates to a method of controlling temperature of a cold/heat forehead massage device. In the temperature control method, a control unit (220) supplies first current to a thermoelectric element (230). The control unit (220) measures time for which the first current is supplied, and determines whether the measured time exceeds first time. If measured time exceeds the first time, the control unit supplies second current to the thermoelectric element. The control unit measures time for which the second current is supplied, and determines whether the measured time exceeds second time. If the measured time exceeds the second time, the control unit supplies third current to the thermoelectric element. The control unit measures time for which the third current is supplied, determines whether the measured time exceeds a third time, and terminates temperature control if the measured time exceeds the third time.

A treatment apparatus for applying combinations of thermal and compressive treatment programmes to a human or animal body comprises a brace (1110) which itself comprises first and second brace portions (1120, 1130) connected by webbing/strapping (1140). The strapping (1140) comprises first and second straps (1150, 1160), each of which engages both of the brace portions (1120, 1130) via a loop (1170a) on one of the brace portions and is held by an anchor (1170b) on the other brace portion. The brace portions each comprise a rigid outer shell (1180) of moulded plastics material, and each includes a mounting socket (1190) for detachably mounting a thermal treatment unit (not shown). The mounting sockets (1190) include apertures (200) that extend through the brace portions to the patient facing side, so as to present an active face of the treatment unit to the treatment site.
