Abstract:
A power tool includes a motor having an outwardly extending rotor that defines a drive axis, a housing surrounding the motor, and a gear case that includes a drive train coupled to the rotor and configured to drive a tool output. The gear case includes a proximal end and an opposite distal end that is exposed to the outside of the tool forward of the housing. The gear case includes respective locking elements spaced around the periphery of the gear case proximal end. A motor mount includes spaced apart locking elements that are configured to engage with respective gear case locking elements. The proximal end portion of the gear case is adapted to make contact with the motor mount between the locking elements and then rotate such that the gear case locking elements engage the motor mount locking elements.
Abstract:
An ergonomically enhanced electric power tool is disclosed that incorporates a new type of user grip and control system. This grip and control system is housed in a substantially rigid control-housing sheath, which provides enhanced leverage and control over the drilling process while reducing stress on the users hand, wrist, and arm. The tool motor is disposed substantially in parallel with the users wrist, but on a different plane, and eliminates the traditional pistol type of power-tool grip. The control-housing sheath contains a grip-controller assembly that allows the user to control most major drill operations within the gauntlet-like control-housing sheath. The inventive concepts described can be applied to myriad hand-held power tools, and a detailed example for a power drill is provided.
Abstract:
Abstract:
An article having a first structure and a second structure. The first structure includes a structural portion and an overmold portion, which is formed from a resilient material and molded onto the structural portion. The overmold portion is configured to perform an auxiliary function, such as creating a seal portion that is configured to sealing engage the second structure, an isolator portion that is configured to contact the second structure and dampen vibrations that are transmitted thereto and/or an auxiliary gripping surface.
Abstract:
With the present invention, there is provided a hole-making system for making holes on the collar (7) of a cylinder (T) The said hole making system comprises at least one hand unit (1) for making holes on the collar (7) of the said cylinder (T) and used with two hands, at least one control unit (2) controlling operation of the said hand unit (1), and at least one pedal (3) enabling the user to control the operation of the hand unit with his foot. In the cylinder hole-making system according to the present invention, the hand unit (1) is held and controlled with two hands and a drilling command is provided by means of a pedal (3) and thus the users are allowed to control the hand unit (1) in a more reliable manner. Hence, user-related errors are minimized in the drilling process.
Abstract:
A portable power drill (11) is disclosed having a chuck or drill collar (14) at one end and a substantially cylindrical (or frusto-conical) twist throttle handle (25, 125, 225) at the other end. Rotation of the handle in the direction of forward rotation of the chuck decreases the drill speed and, conversely, rotation of the handle in the direction of reverse rotation of the chuck increases the drill speed. Consequently, in the event of an auger locked in the chuck becoming jammed, the reaction forces experienced by the drill unit rotate the drill unit in a direction such that throttle decreases the drill speed. In addition, the drill unit is provided with forward (44) and reverse gears (45) and a forward/reverse selection mechanism (48, 50, 51) which is actuated by a forward force, or a withdrawing force respectively being applied to the drill unit via an operator who holds the handles (20, 25) of the drill unit.
Abstract:
There is provided a waterproof casing (200., 210, 220, 230) for a powertool (100), the powertool (100) comprising a drive output (115) for interchangeably connecting various tools 050). The waterproof casing comprises a waterproof enclosure (210, 220, 230) fox enclosing the powertool (100) and an interface tool (200) for connecting to the drive output (115). Hie 'interface tool (200) comprises a sealing surface for sealing against an aperture iii the waterproof enclosure, a tool fitting for connecting a tool, and a shaft for supplying force from the rotating drive output to the tool fitting.
