Abstract:
Dispensing apparatus for dispensing pressurised fluid comprising a valve body defining a chamber and a valve member extending movably through the chamber and through at least one annular seal co-operating with the valve member and the body to regulate the discharge of fluid. The seal is formed from a material comprising A a copolymer of ethylene and propylene or B a terpolymer of ethylene, propylene and a diene, or C a material selected from isobutylene isoprene, polychloroprene or fluorinated rubber. The seal may contain a mineral filler.
Abstract:
Unburnt polytetrafluoroethylene tape for sealing screw joints which is produced by monoaxially stretching an unburnt molding of a composition comprising 75-25 parts by weight of fine polytetrafluoroethylene powder and 25-75 parts by weight of an inorganic powder having a Mohs hardness of 3 or less and being substantially non-water-absorbing. This tape has excellent heat resistance and sealing performance comparable to those of conventional polytetrafluoroethylene tapes for sealing screw joints and is reduced in the amount of polytetrafluoroethylene to be used. The use of the specified inorganic powder enables restrictions against the stretching conditions to be loosened and prevents screws from undergoing wear or damages otherwise caused by inorganic powders.
Abstract:
Gaskets for steam application are provided which have low water loss through the gasket during use. The gaskets are compressed gaskets made by the conventional calendering process and use a fiber-blend pulp as the organic fibers component instead of asbestos or other organic fibers present in conventional gaskets. The fiber-blend comprises (1) p-polyaramid pulp and (2) at least one of (a) m-polyaramid staple or fibrids, and (b) polytetrafluoroethylene powder.
Abstract:
A coating for sealing surfaces against moisture, in particular flat roofs, comprises an incompletely drying synthetic resin composition with a low drying agent content and possibly an increased pigment content. This composition is applied to a cleaned surface in a thickness sufficient to obtain a semi-viscous to viscous lower layer below a thin, flexible viscous dry layer. The synthetic resin is composed of a long-oil, low-viscosity alkyl resin based on dried fatty acids of vegetable origin. The coating is simple to manipulate and ensures a hermetic sealing of surfaces with long-term stability.

Abstract:
Composition for coating, filling, binding, and protection, comprising rubber, whereby it comprises rubber having a particle size of at most 0.4 mm present in an amount of 20-50 % by weight, and a curable polymer base present in an amount of 40-55 % by weight, which components after curing of said polymer base is the elastic and adhesive part of the composition. The invention further relates to a process for preparation, and a process for applying said composition.
Abstract:
Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf den Einsatz von inaktiven mineralischen Füllstoffen (wie Kieselgur) in Kautschuken, besonders Nitrilkautschuken, um explosive Dekompression bei CO 2 zu vermindern.
Abstract:
The invention concerns polyurethane compositions in which at least some of the fillers, preferably at least 30 wt % thereof, are surface-treated. The polyurethane compositions have highly stable reactivity during storage before application owing to the addition of pyrogenic silicic acids thereto. The compositions can either contain catalysts or be catalyst-free. This is particularly advantageous if the use techniques demand a long potlife.
