Abstract:
Provided is a sealant composition having excellent adhesion of a coating material to a surface of the sealant composition and excellent workability at the time of sealing treatment. The sealant composition contains (A) a reactive polymer, (B) spherical particles having a particle diameter of0.015 to 2 mm, and (C) a curing catalyst, wherein the sealant composition contains 0.05 to 15 % by volume, based on the sealant composition, of the particles (B).
Abstract:
An adsorbent containing composition (22) for use in an insulating glass unit (10) is provided. The composition includes a depolymerized butyl rubber having a low viscosity average molecular weight which is a carrier for moisture and volatile organic chemical adsorbing materials. The composition is economical to produce and results in a composition which effectively desiccates a sealed insulating glass unit without the problem of chemical fogging.
Abstract:

Abstract:
Provided are low-density sealing compositions having high tensile strength and a method of producing the same. The sealing compositions may contain a polyvinyl chloride resin, surface-treated hollow glass microspheres and a plasticizer, and contains 30 to 60 vol% hollow glass microsphere.
Abstract:
Curable compositions capable of giving a cured article excellent in weatherability and flame retardancy. 1 One of the curable compositions comprises an organic polymer having at least one crosslinkable hydrolyzable silyl group and a phyllosilicate. It has enhanced weatherability due to incorporation of the phyllosilicate, and has further enhanced weatherability because the bleeding of an ultraviolet absorber and a light stabilizer is inhibited. 2 The other composition comprises 100 parts by weight of a urethane resin, epoxy resin, and/or modified polysulfide resin and 0.1 to 100 parts by weight of a phyllosilicate. It has enhanced weatherability due to incorporation of the phyllosilicate, and has further enhanced weatherability because the bleeding of an ultraviolet absorber and a light stabilizer is inhibited.
Abstract:
Described is a flexible, solid fire sealant produced by high shear mixing in a substantially volatile-free state and capable of being molded or extruded into a variety of shapes and used as firestops for windows, doors, dampers, shutters, and through-penetrations, the sealant containing water-insoluble intumescent mineral granules, a polymeric, halogen-free binder, and a flame retardant, wherein the sealant has a softness value from about 0.01 to about 3.75 mm and exhibits high expansion values and chars upon exposure to heat.
Abstract:
The subject of the present invention is a sealing compound which comprise A) from 20 to 95 % by weight of at least one compound having on average at least 2 isocyanate groups per molecule, the isocyanate groups each being blocked, B) from 1.5 to 30 % by weight of at least one di- and/or polyamine, C) from 0 to 50 % by weight of at least one further organic polymer, D) from 0 to 60 % by weight of pigments and/or fillers, E) from 0 to 50 % by weight of one or more reactive diluents, and F) from 0 to 35 % by weight of auxiliaries and additives, characterized in that the sealing compound comprises G) from 1 to 40 % by weight of at least one adhesive, the sum of the proportions by weight of all components A) to G) employed in the sealing compound being in each case 100 % by weight.
Abstract:
Fluid-sealing gasket sheet materials are described herein which seal particularly well against polar liquids. These gasketing sheets have from about 5 to about 20 % fiber, and at least about 62 % filler, and a reduced binder concentration, container about 18 % by weight of binder or less, allowing the binder to be reduced even to zero. The filler must be at least about 3 % by weight of a gel-forming mineral filler. In addition to giving from good to very excellent seals against polar liquids, this gasketing also has good torque retention and creep resistance.
Abstract:
A composition for simulated lead strips for leaded windows, which composition consists of 50 - 75 weight % binder, 5 - 15 weight % pigment, 5 - 20 weight % oil and 10 - 30 weight % filling, the binder being a polymer binder, chosen among polyvinyl alcohol based adhesives, polyurethan based adhesives and synthetic rubber based adhesives. The pigment is suitably chosen among metal pigments, bronze powder, iron oxide and graphite, or mixtures thereof. The oil consists preferably of a vegetable, drying oil, like linseed oil. The filling is suitably chosen among wood-flour, saw-dust or sand. A preferred composition consists of 65 weight % polyvinyl alcohol based adhesive, 3 weight % iron oxide, 5 weight % aluminium bronze powder, 11 weight % linseed oil and 16 weight % saw-dust.
