A fuel injection nozzle (1) comprises a housing (10) formed with a passage (11) for the flow of fuel from an inlet (12) to an outlet orifice (13). A flexibly mounted rod (21) is displaceable with respect to the sides of the outlet orifice (13) to dislodge accumulated deposits of carbonaceous or like material. A burner device incorporating the fuel injection nozzle (1) is also described.

Die Brennerreinigungsvorrichtung umfasst: wenigstens einen Spülkopf (3) mit einer Spülkopföffnung (33), welcher derart ausgestaltet ist, dass er sich mit der Spülkopföffnung (33) auf eine Brennstoffdüse (13) des Brenners (1) aufsetzen lässt und die Zu- oder Abfuhr eines Spülfluids zu der bzw. von der Düse (13) ermöglicht; und/oder wenigstens einer Fluidleitung (5), die derart ausgestaltet ist, dass sie sich an die Brennstoffzufuhrleitung (15) des Brenners (1) anschließen lässt und die Zu- oder Abfuhr eines Spülfluids zu der bzw. von der Brennstoffzufuhrleitung (15) ermöglicht; und einer Pumpe (37); Die Pumpe (37), der Spülkopf (3) und/oder die Fluidleitung (5) sind strömungstechnisch derart miteinander verbunden, dass sie einen von dem Spülfluid sequentiell durchströmbaren Strömungspfad bilden.

Disclosed is a combustion apparatus to be operated with a combustible that is liquid at ambient temperature, especially a vegetable oil. Said combustion apparatus comprises an evaporator device (1) for evaporating the liquid combustible, a nozzle (25) for ejecting and igniting the evaporated combustible, and a combustible pipe (9, 10) for conducting the liquid combustible into the evaporator device (11). The combustible pipe (9, 10) is provided with at least one outlet (7,16) for discharging excess combustible from the evaporator device (1).

Diesel fuel is vaporized and then burned on a cylindrical screen flame holder (110). The fuel is vaporized in a finned, vertical tube vapor generator (40) and directed through a superheater tube (60) past the flame to a flow control valve (300) and nozzle (320). A flow restriction (34) is provided between a liquid fuel supply and the vapor generator. The flame holder is vertically supported over a mixer (340) and the nozzle. A flame deflector (120) about the flame holder and a reservoir (366) about the nozzle collect fuel condensate during start-up.

An inlet assembly for a burner and a method are disclosed. The inlet assembly for a burner comprises: a manifold having an inlet aperture and a coaxially aligned outlet aperture, the manifold having a nozzle bore extending along a longitudinal axis between the inlet aperture and the outlet aperture for conveying an effluent gas from an inlet pipe coupleable with the inlet aperture to the outlet aperture for delivery to a combustion chamber of the burner; a nozzle bore scraper housed within the nozzle bore; and an actuator operable to reciprocate the nozzle bore scraper relative to the nozzle bore, the nozzle bore scraper reciprocating along the longitudinal axis within the nozzle bore between a rest position and an actuated position to reduce effluent gas deposits within the nozzle bore. The provision of the nozzle bore, which avoids directional changes, reduces the likelihood of deposits occurring. Also, movement of the nozzle bore scraper relative to the nozzle bore between rest and actuated positions causes the nozzle bore scraper to scrape effluent deposits within the nozzle bore. This helps to prevent clogging with deposits or residues which would otherwise impair the operation of the burner by restricting or impairing the flow of the effluent gas into the combustion chamber or by influence the chemistry of the combustion occurring within the burner.
