Abstract:
Noise attenuation apparatus (300) for pressure regulators are disclosed. An example apparatus (300) includes a first noise attenuator (312) disposed at a first position in a fluid passageway of a pressure regulator and a second noise attenuator (314) disposed at a second position in the fluid passageway. The second position is spaced apart from the first position along the fluid passageway. The example apparatus (300) also includes fasteners (328) extending between the first noise attenuator (312) and the second noise attenuator (314) to position the first noise attenuator (312) at the first position and the second noise attenuator 314 at the second position. The fasteners (328) are to couple to peripheral portions of the noise attenuators (312, 314).
Abstract:
An exhaust treatment device (100) for treating exhaust includes a main body (110) defining an interior (111), an inlet (115), and an outlet (116); an inlet arrangement (120) disposed at the inlet (115); an aftertreatment substrate (130) disposed between the inlet (115) and the outlet (116); a restrictor arrangement (140) disposed between a first closed end (112) of the main body interior (111) and the aftertreatment substrate (130); and a dosing arrangement (150) configured to inject reactant into the exhaust. The restrictor arrangement (140) defines a restricted passageway (145) that extends towards the first closed end (112) so that exhaust entering the main body interior (111) from the inlet (115) is swirled around the restricted passageway (145) before entering the restricted passageway (145) and passing to a second chamber (119) prior to the aftertreatment substrate (130).
Abstract:
A combined muffler and heat exchanger apparatus is provided. The apparatus includes a housing defining a heat transfer chamber and an acoustic attenuation chamber separated by a partition. A flow regulator and a fluid transport member are disposed within the heat transfer chamber. The flow regulator is adapted to regulate the flow of a first fluid, such as a heat source, between an input end of the housing and the partition. The fluid transport member is adapted to contain the flow of a second fluid. An acoustic regulator is disposed in the acoustic attenuation chamber and extends longitudinally from the partition to an output end of the housing. The acoustic regulator is a metal tube including a plurality of apertures adapted to attenuate exhaust stream acoustics associated with an automotive vehicle power source.
Abstract:
There is provided a process for filling a muffler (10) with fibrous material (24). The process includes feeding fibrous material into a muffler comprising a closed outer shell (12) having an inner cavity (12a) and a perforated pipe having an end portion (18a) that defines a fill opening (18b). There is provided also a muffler with a filling of fibrous material.
Abstract:
The present invention is an exhaust device, which is of a two-wheeled automobile provided with a pannier (3) for storing articles at the sides of the rear, wherein the rear end surface (20a) of a muffler (20) that exhausts exhaust gas (G) to the outside is positioned to the front side of the front end surface (3a) of the pannier (3), and the exit pipes (8, 9) of the muffler (20) are caused to bend in a manner so that the exhaust gas (G) is exhausted below the pannier (3). The axial center of the muffler (20) is inclined upwards and to the rear. A plurality of the exit pipes (8, 9) are disposed in the vertical direction, and the upper exit pipe (8) is caused to bend.
