    摘要: A method is disclosed for manufacturing connectable or non-connectable elongate porous plastic profiles 12 from substantially continuous randomised extruded plastic strands made of recycled thermoplastics. Current manufacturing processes can manufacture similar products, comprising short partially melted plastic particles melded together forming planks. These planks, however, are inherently friable, easily broken and not readily connectable. These shortcomings are caused by the manufacturing method used, being friction plate agglomeration. This invention utilises an extrusion process, which produces substantially endless random strands of thermoplastic 13 which drop and are welded together to form a porous mass, which is then compressed into boards or planks by pulling the mass through a forming tool 6 and 7. The profile can be adjusted to form edge recesses allowing the planks to be fitted together,for instance to form area coverings, or they can simply be laid end to end to form drainage channels.

    摘要: A method for producing reels (B) of plastic film (F) by cast extrusion process is described, comprising the steps of: (a) causing the film (F) to flow out from a slit (12) of an extrusion head (10) by adjusting its thickness by means of adjustment means (26); (b) drawing the film (F) exiting the extrusion head (10) by means of an internally cooled roll (14); (c) winding the film (F) coming from the roll (14) by means of a winding unit (16) placed downstream of the roll (14) so as to form reels (B) of film (F), (d) measuring the thickness of the film (F) by means of a thickness measuring device (22) interposed between the roll (14) and the winding unit (16), and (e) controlling the adjustment means (26) to adjust the thickness of the film (F) based on the thickness measurements provided by the thickness measuring device (22). According to the invention, the method further comprises the steps of: (f) measuring a reference quantity of the film reels (B) produced, said reference quantity depending on the thickness of the film (F); (g) comparing the measured value of said reference quantity with a design value of said reference quantity corresponding to the design value of the thickness of the film (F); and (h) if the measured value is different from the design value of said reference quantity, acting on said adjustment means (26) and/or on said thickness measuring device (22) to obtain a thickness of the film (F) corresponding to the desired one.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a very long pipe formed in a single extrusion process from certain types of thermoplastic polymer [for example a polymer from the polyaryletherketone (PAEK) family, such as polyetheretherketone (PEEK)] where such pipes are manufactured in a way that delivers a particularly low occurrence of certain types of defect. Said defects include an area of the pipe wall that has a thickness that is too high or too low vs adesiredspecification or a section of pipe where the outside diameter is too high or too low versus a desired specification. The invention further relates to a process for forming such long polymer pipes.
