Abstract: The present invention refers to a computer-implemented method, the method comprising at least the following steps: - obtaining, using at least one measuring device, color values, texture values and digital images of a target coating, - retrieving from a database which comprises formulas for coating compositions and interrelated color values, interrelated texture values, and interrelated digital images, one or more preliminary matching formulas based on the color values and/or the texture values obtained for the target coating, - determining sparkle points within the respective obtained images and within the respective images associated with the one or more preliminary matching formulas, - creating subimages of each sparkle point from the respective images, - providing the created subimages to a convolutional neural network, the convolutional neural network being trained to correlate a respective subimage of a respective sparkle point with a pigment and/or pigment class, - determining, based on an output of the neural network, at least one of the one or more preliminary matching formulas as the formula(s) best matching with the target coating. The present invention further provides a respective device and a non- transitory computer readable medium.

Abstract: A method of digital printing is disclosed in which a digital image to be printed has at least one region having pixels comprising superpositioned layers of a first ink and a second ink. The method includes producing at least one sample print and calibrating misalignment of the superpositioned layers at a plurality of calibration locations on the sample print. The resultant misalignment data is provided to a morphing program to pre-deform the digital image to provide a modified digital image which compensates for misalignment during printing. The image is then printed using the the modified digital image. An apparatus and a machinereadable storage medium comprising instructions executable by a processor are also disclosed.

Abstract: A method and system for detecting one or more failing nozzles in an inkjet printhead (12) of an inkjet printer (10) for printing an image on a substrate and compensating failing nozzles, as well as for correcting colour uniformity of a printed image in inkjet printing an image on a substrate are disclosed. The method comprises printing a first test pattern (30) on a dedicated substrate (16), which is optically scanned. From the scan failing nozzles are identified, which are to be compensated by other nozzles. To these compensating nozzles compensated nozzle control data are allocated, which are used in printing a second test pattern (36) that is also scanned and analysed for local deviations of colorimetric greyscale value. Corrected nozzle control data are allocated to the nozzles associated with the local deviation.
