Abstract:
A vinyl-backed carpet structure (31) is disclosed which includes an oleophobic barrier layer (41) which prevents chemical migration into or out of the vinyl backing layer (39). In a preferred aspect, the carpet structure (31) is made self-adhesive by incorporating a layer of pressure sensitive adhesive (43) below the barrier layer (41). Also, a release sheet (45) is applied to the pressure sensitive adhesive (43) which is adapted to be pulled off to expose the pressure sensitive adhesive (43). In the preferred aspect, the oloeophobic barrier layer (41) prevents migration of the plasticizer from the vinyl backing layer (39) into the layer of pressure sensitive adhesive (43) which would otherwise be incompatible with the vinyl backing layer (39). Preferably, the carpet structure is manufactured in a six foot width.
Abstract:
An acoustic tracking system designed to allow scientists and fishermen to follow dolphins and whales without harming or harassing them. The system utilizes six flow shielded hydrophones (14-17, 22, 23) mounted on the bottom of a vessel (11) in two arrays of three hydrophones in each array. Acoustic signals of interest (dolphin calls) which strike the hydrophone piezo-electric elements (32) are transmitted to a receiver-display device (51, 52) which determines and displays both the bearing (78) to the signal of interest and the relative range (55) from the vessel to that signal. The receiver-display device utilizes digital microprocessors (67) to determine the difference in signal arrival time of an incoming signal at pairs of hydrophones. The resulting computed bearing to the dolphin call is displayed as a lighted indicator (52) on an electronic heading display. In addition, the digital microprocessors compare the received sound pressure level of incoming signals of interest and display the relative range (55) as a series of lighted LED's on the electronic heading indicator.
Abstract:
A process for the agglomeration of powder or dust of alumina containing material (herein referred to as "alumina powder"), wherein an aqueous slurry of the alumina powder is formed, the slurry containing a sufficient quantity of an inorganic binder comprising a polymer form of a hydroxy salt of aluminium. The slurry is subjected to a spray drying operation to form agglomerated granules of the alumina powder, and the granules then are calcined at an elevated temperature for their consolidation. The alumina containing material comprises Al2O3.nH2O, wherein n is in the range of from 0 to 3.
Abstract:
Embodiments of a system and method are disclosed for providing effective communication between an entity, e.g., college, and users, e.g., prospective students, parents, relatives, guardians, counselors, etc. Embodiments provide a campaign management tool designed to meet the needs of the school admissions officers and other school personnel. An embodiment of the campaign management tool allows a school to create and manage webinar session campaigns to reach prospective students and to convince students offered admission to enroll. Embodiments of the system and method allow a school to create and manage webinar, email, mail and telephone campaigns using the campaign management tool. Embodiments allow a high school/district to utilize a college fair webinar. Embodiments provide unique widgets to be used on the school websites or other websites. The widget provides visitor search engine analytics and allows the students to register for webinars and introduce themselves well before the application process begins.

Abstract:
The present invention provides a herbicidal composition comprising: (i) a compound of Formula (I) wherein R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6, and R7 are as defined herein; and (ii) a safener of Formula (II) or an agronomically acceptable salt of said compounds, wherein Ra, Rb and Rc are as defined herein.
Abstract:
A connector terminal (500) comprising a main body (512) including a plurality of straps (521), the straps defining a first section (515), a curved section (512), a second section (525) and a retention portion (510) connected to an end of the first section (515) of the connector terminal and configured to secure the terminal (500) into a housing. A solder tail (505) is connected to the retention portion (510). The straps (521) are separated by a first distance in the first section (515) and the curved section (520) of the connector terminal (500). The straps (521) angle in towards one another in the second section (525) of the connector terminal (500) to a distance that is less than the first distance to define a contact region (530) of the connector terminal (500). The distance between the straps (521) at the contact region (530) remains substantially the same when the contact region (530) of the connector terminal is moved laterally within a plane defined by the plurality of straps in the second section (525) of the connector terminal (500).
Abstract:

Abstract:
The present invention provides an apparatus and method for occluding tributary blood vessels inside a principal blood vessel while still allowing blood to flow through the principal vessel. The apparatus has a support structure and associated membrane that can be collapsed for insertion into the principal vessel. Once inserted at the desired location the support is allowed to expand, forcing the membrane to contact the inner walls of the vessel with sufficient force to occlude the openings of the tributary vessels.
