    Abstract: The invention provides an animal distribution influencing system (2000) comprising an animal activation system (100), an animal residence (200) for animals, and a physical separator (400), wherein:- the physical separator (400) is configured to separate in an operational mode the animal residence (200) in a first part (210) and a second part (220), whereby a second subset of the animals can pass the physical separator (400) in a predetermined direction, and a first subset of the animals cannot pass the physical separator (400) in a predetermined direction or may have more difficulties to pass the physical separator (400) in the predetermined direction than the animals of the second subset;- the activation system (100) is configured to activate at least part of the animals, thereby promoting that at least part of the animals passes the physical separator (400), wherein the activation system (100) comprises a lighting system (1000), wherein the lighting system (1000) is configured to generate system light (1001), wherein the activation system (100) is configured to activate the at least part of the animals by the system light (1001).

    Abstract: The invention relates to an illumination system comprising at least one illumination device as well such illumination device, both the system as the device capable of implementing a lighting functionality as well as an air treatment (disinfecting or purifying) functionality. According to a first aspect of the invention an illumination system composed of at least one illumination device is proposed, with the at least one illumination device comprising a support structure; at least one light emitting source coupled with the support structure for emitting visible light radiation; an ion generating source coupled with the support structure for at least generating ionized molecules in air; and at least one UV light emitting source coupled with the support structure for emitting UV light radiation in a wavelength range for depleting ozone generated by the ion generating source. Herewith such illumination system can effectively implemented in free accessible spaces, whilst implementing both a lighting functionality as well as an air treatment (disinfecting or purifying) functionality and in addition also guaranteeing a safe, ozone free environment for people accessing such public spaces.

    Abstract: The invention relates to pre-conditioning an animal(s) to (the risk of) heat stress. The invention provides a control device for controlling a lighting device to illuminate at least one animal in a space, wherein the control device is configured to: obtain prediction data indicative of a value of an environmental condition in said space during a future time period; determine said value of the environmental condition based on the prediction data; determine a prediction of heat stress of the at least one animal in said space during the future time period if said value of the environmental condition falls within a predefined limit for heat stress; control, upon determining said prediction of heat stress, a lighting device to illuminate the at least one animal in said space with a lighting characteristic at least partly before said future time period.

    Abstract: The invention provides a conditioning device for conditioning at least one animal intended to experience a stressful event, such as e.g. slaughter, transport, and/or evacuation. The conditioning device comprises a controller configured to: obtain an identifier associated with the at least one animal; obtain an input indicative of a period of time in which said at least one animal receives a positive stimulus at a first location; control a lighting unit arranged for illuminating the first location to illuminate the at least one animal with a lighting characteristic at least partly during said period of time, and store an entry linking said identifier to said lighting characteristic in a memory. Complementary thereto, the invention further provides a lighting device for illuminating at least one animal intended to experience a stressful event, wherein the at least one animal is conditioned to a lighting characteristic with the conditioning device according to the invention, wherein the lighting device comprises: a light source; a communication interface for communication with a memory; a detecting unit configured to determine the identifier of the at least one animal; a control unit configured to retrieve, with the communication interface, an entry linking said identifier to said lighting characteristic from said memory, and to control the light source to illuminate the at least one animal with said lighting characteristic during said stressful event.
