Abstract:
A cavitation device is used to heat, concentrate and recycle or otherwise reuse dilute and other oil well fluids, brines and muds, and solution mining fluids, all of which commonly contain ingredients worthy of conservation. The cavitation device is powered by a Diesel engine whose exhaust may be used to heat the incoming fluid, and the product of the cavitation device is directed to a flash tank.
Abstract:
A method of and apparatus for obtaining 3-way separation of crude oil sludge comprises raising the temperature of by way of H and agitating through the use of C a blend of crude oil sludge with citrus derived solvent in hopper AU to the temperature at which the released oil floats on water so that that oil can be recovered separated from such water and sediment trapped in the original crude sludge.
Abstract:
The present invention provides for a method of producing a composition containing a polymer having undergone phase inversion, the method comprising the step of: effecting phase inversion of a phase invertible water insoluble polymer in an aqueous composition and the composition comprises a mixture of at least two different substances, one of which is a water insoluble dispersible polymer having undergone phase inversion while the other is optionally a contaminant.
Abstract:
Polyester compositions and methods of producing and using same are provided. The polyester compositions at least include an anionic diacid monomer or diester monomer thereof and a polyether. The polyester compositions of the present invention can be effectively utilized, for example, to treat crude oil during production and refinery processing.
Abstract:
A method and a device for separation, in particular oil, gas and water, in connection with the extraction of such a fluid from formations under the surface of the earth or the sea bed. The fluid is transported in a supply pipe or transport pipe (4) to a separator (1) in the form of a tubular separator body, a gravitation tank or similar. The separated components, water and oil, are passed out of the separator separately via outlet pipes (not shown). The fluid upstream of the separator (1) is subjected to shear forces so that the drops in the supply flow are tarn up to form drops that are so small that the interface generally becomes new and "uncontaminated" by surfactants. The shear forces are supplied by means of a phase inversion device (6) in the form of a valve or similar. Water can expediently be added to the fluid upstream of the phase inversion device (6) to achieve the desired phase inversion.
Abstract:
A composition and method for treating oversprayed paints in paint spray booths is provided. The method includes contacting the paint overspray with a wash water system comprising an agitated solution including a coagulant so as to collect the paint overspray in the agitated solution. The solution containing the paint overspray is passed to an area relatively free of agitation so as to cause the solution to spontaneously phase separate into an organic phase containing paint overspray and an aqueous phase. The organic phase containing the paint overspray, which contains the paint solids portion, that includes organic resins and, optionally, pigments, and, optionally, an organic solvents portion, is separated from the aqueous phase. The wash water system for treating paint overspray in paint spray booths includes a coagulant in an amount effective in precipitating the paint solids and, optionally, organic solvents, from the system.
