Abstract:
Im Rahmen der Erfindung wurde ein Verfahren zur Analyse und Dekomposition eines Stereoaudiosignals entwickelt. Dieses Stereoaudiosignal weist ein erstes Audiosignal (110) für eine linke Wiedergabeeinrichtung (810) und ein zweites Audiosignal (120) für eine rechte Wiedergabeeinrichtung (820) auf. Aus diesen Signalen werden Panning-Koeffizienten (310, 320) extrahiert, die die Richtungsinformation über die Schallquellen beinhalten, von denen das Stereoaudiosignal ursprünglich herrührt. Dabei wird von der Näherung ausgegangen, dass für jede Frequenz im Allgemeinen genau eine Schallquelle als dominant angesehen werden kann. Mit dieser Näherung sind die Panning-Koeffizienten durch Lösen eines Gleichungssystems mit geringerem Rechenaufwand erhältlich als nach dem bisherigen Stand der Technik. Dabei ist die Klangqualität, die sich nach dem Repanning des auf diese Weise aufgewerteten Signals auf eine Konfiguration mit mehr als zwei Lautsprechern ergibt, gleichbleibend oder besser. Vorteilhaft werden aus dem Stereoaudiosignal nach Bestimmung der Panning-Koeffizienten das Direktsignal (330) sowie zwei nicht mit der Direktschallquelle korrelierte Umgebungssignale und extrahiert.

Methods and systems are provided for ultrasonic emitter based floor audio units. An example floor audio unit may comprise one or more ultrasonic emitters and may be placed on or near a floor. The floor audio unit may generate audio output that comprises ultrasonic signals, and may emit the ultrasonic signals using the one or more ultrasonic emitters, where the one or more ultrasonic emitters may be configured to emit the ultrasonic signals upward. Further, directionality of emission of the ultrasonic signals is based on a position of a listener and/or a location of the listener's head relative to the enclosure of the floor audio unit. The ultrasonic signals and/or the positioning of the one or more ultrasonic emitters may be adjusted based on the position of the listener and/or the location of the listener's head to optimize the directionality of emission of the ultrasonic signals.

An audio processing method and apparatus are described. In one embodiment, at least one first sub-band of a first audio signal is suppressed to obtain a reduced first audio signal with reserved sub-bands; suppressing at least one second sub-band of the at least one second audio signal to obtain at least one reduced second audio signal with reserved sub-bands; and mixing the reduced first audio signal and at least one reduced second audio signal. Alternatively, a first spatial auditory property is assigned to a first audio signal so that the first audio signal may be perceived as originating from a first position. Alternatively, rhythmic similarity between at least two audio signals is detected, and time scaling is applied to an audio signal in response to relatively high rhythmic similarity between the audio signal and the other audio signal(s); and then at least two audio signals are mixed.
Abstract:
An audio signal enhancing device, and a corresponding method of enhancing stereophonic signals, is provided which generates an enhanced signal with improved spatial sound image quality for upmixing a stereophonic input signal. When used in combination with a centre channel processor or LFE processor, an improved processing of the input signals is provided resulting in final centre channel and at least one LFE sub-woofer channel wherein the problems and disadvantages of the prior art are resolved. The result is a centre and LFE signal that contains a stable, non time-smeared image with a high quality natural-sounding fidelity. These advantages are achieved especially for time-delayed or phase-panned stereo input signals, independently of whether they are matrix encoded or non-matrix encoded input signals.

A method, manner, process, system and product to transparently deliver audio through fusion of fixed loudspeakers and headphones without disconnecting the user from external sonic atmosphere to simultaneously create a sonic space around and inside the spectators head to deliver the sweet spot experience intended by the composer/director/artist to every spectator irrespective of their location within the arena/cinema/hall while giving the audio content more dimensional perspectives otherwise impossible.

In an embodiment of the invention, a display device equipped with a surround speaker system, a player for outputting an image and a display monitor comprises: a center channel decoder which receives audio corresponding to the center channel speaker among audios that are output from a surround decoder of the surround speaker system and which divides the audio into sound sources by object; a center channel matrix which sets coordinates for the sound sources having been divided by object through the center channel decoder; a matrix amp which amplifies the output sound of the speaker in response to each coordinate of the sound sources by object; and a multiplicity of speakers arranged in a matrix form at the back of the display monitor.
