Abstract:
Notifying an IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) that user equipment (UE) is operating in a mode where it cannot be reached may be useful in various communication systems. For example, an IMS may receive a notification that a UE is operating in coverage enhancement (CE) mode B, extended discontinuous reception (eDRx), and/or a power-saving mode. A method may comprise receiving, at a network entity, one or more failure indications; mapping, by the network entity, the failure indications to one or more rejection reason codes, wherein the one or more rejection reason codes indicate that a user equipment is unavailable; and transmitting, from the network entity, the one or more rejection reason codes to a network application function to temporarily suspend further attempts by the network application function to contact the user equipment, adjust a re-transmission timer in IMS to a greater value, and/or set a time to re-connect.
Abstract:
A neutral host network is configured to provide services supported by any one or more of multiple Participating Service Providers (PSPs) to user equipment in an unlicensed frequency band. The neutral host network includes a neutral host gateway configured for communication with at least one external network, a mobility management entity (MME), and a local authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA) server configured to determine that a session involving the user equipment is to be detached from the neutral host network. The local AAA server is also configured to transmit, to the neutral host gateway, a first message to initiate session detach of the session involving the user equipment. The neutral host gateway can be configured to transmit a second message to the MME in response to receiving the first message. The MME is configured to perform session detach for the session in response to receiving the second message.
Abstract:
Devices, methods, user equipment (UE), core network devices, evolved node B (eNB), and storage media for UE provisioning are described. In one embodiment, processing circuitry of a mobility management entity (MME) decodes a non-access stratum (NAS) message comprising a detach request associated with a first user equipment (UE) and determines that the detach request is received from the UE without integrity protection. The MME then analyzes one or more additional criteria associated with the detach request in response to confirmation that the detach request message is received from the UE without the integrity protection, and manages an evolved packet system (EPS) mobility management (EMM) registration state for the first UE based on analysis of the one or more additional criteria. Various different criteria and associated EMM registration state management operations are described. Additional corresponding UE operations are also described.

Abstract:
Embodiments described herein relate to a method of managing communications for a wireless communication device having a first Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) associated with a first subscription and a second SIM associated with a second subscription, the method including, but not limited to, determining that the first subscription is a Default Data Subscription (DDS), deactivating at least one first Packet Data Network (PDN) associated with the second subscription, and communicating via at least one second PDN associated with the second subscription, wherein the at least one first PDN is different from the at least one second PDN.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides an efficient method and system for controlling resources of a wireless device during a detach procedure in a wireless communication network. According to a broad aspect of the disclosure, there is provided a method for a control node for controlling resources for a UE in a wireless network. The method includes receiving a detach message from the UE that contains a detach type for the detach. When the detach type for the detach is indicative of a switch off, the method includes sending a release message with a first detach indication to an access node to release one or more resources associated with the UE. When the detach type for the detach is not indicative of a switch off, the method includes sending the release message with a second detach indication to the access node to release the one or more resources associated with the UE.
Abstract:
The present application discloses a method for enabling a user equipment to access a radio network, a network equipment and a user equipment. A specific embodiment of the method comprises: determining, by a network equipment, whether a predetermined condition is satisfied; and if yes, the method further comprises: transmitting, by the network equipment, information indicating whether a radio network to which the network equipment belongs is isolated, such that the user equipment performs related operations. In the embodiment, the network equipment informs UE of state information about whether the radio network to which network equipments belongs is isolated or not in different ways, so that the isolated network can provide users with reliable local bearer supporting service continuity, thereby meeting communication requirements for public safety and the like.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus for performing an attach/detach procedure or activating/deactivating a power saving mode (PSM) based on proximity with a device in a wireless communication system is provided. According to an embodient, a user equipment (UE) performs a detach procedure or activates a PSM, upon detecting proximity with another device. According to another embodiment, a UE performs an attach procedure or deactivates a PSM, upon detecting non-proximity with another device.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for indicating change of a coverage enhancement (CE) mode in a wireless communication system is provided. A CE mode for coverage enhancement may be defined. A user equipment (UE) determines whether the CE mode changes. If it is determined that the CE mode changes, the UE detaches with a network, and re-attaches with the network based on the changed CE mode.
