The bore can be configured to receive the optical guidewire assembly at the first bore end and configured to deform the optical guidewire assembly at the second bore end such that probe and lead ends of the optical guidewire assembly are deformed into a substantially non-circular profile and located between the first and second bore ends.

    摘要: This invention relates to an optical probe (200) and an optical imaging system, including an optical guide (201) having a proximal end and a distal end, an actuation means having driving coils (204) and a magnet, with of which being attached to the optical guide. By supplying a driving current through the driving coils a magnetic flux is generated which interacts with the magnet forming a driving force acting at on the optical guide causing a displacement of the distal end of the optical guide. A position measuring including a position measuring coil (205) is used for monitoring the position of the optical guide, where the internal arrangement of the position measuring coil and the driving coils is such that said displacement of the distal end of the optical guide causes a change in the internal arrangement. A power supply supplies an additional high frequency alternating current (AC) through the driving coils which causes an induced voltage in the position measuring coil and thus generates a magnetic coupling between the position measuring coil and the driving coils. A position measuring means measures the displacement of the distal end of the optical guide by means of measuring the induced voltage resulting in when the internal arrangement changes. This induced voltage change being indicative for the position of the distal end.

    摘要: A digital imaging endoscope with an elongated shaft has a core member for imparting flexibility and column strength to the shaft. The shaft extends distally from a proximal handle, and at least part of the shaft, or the entire shaft, comprises an inner member, the core member, and an outer member. The inner member defines at least three lumens. A first lumen is for receiving an instrument, a second lumen is for receiving one or more wires for connecting a digital imaging device at a distal portion of the shaft to a display unit, and a third lumen is for receiving the core member. The core member can occupy the space within the shaft that was traditionally occupied by a fiber optic bundle in non-digital imaging endoscopes. The outer member is disposed over the inner member of the shaft, and the outer member defines a lumen through which the inner member extends.
