Abstract:
A method of making a display area and a glass tile as well as a display area that includes the glass tile. Prior to assembling the glass tile into the array, an edge treatment is performed on the glass tile, the edge treatment increasing an edge strength of the glass tile, as measured by the four point bend test, to at least about 200 MPa. The edge treatment can, for example, include at least one of plasma jet treatment and protective material application.
Abstract:
A method for micro-fabricating a device on a substrate (20), comprising the steps of providing a cavity (31) having a temporary aperture (35) communicating with the outside; providing a sealing structure (45) adjacent to a perimeter of the temporary aperture (35); applying heat to the sealing structure (45), whereby the sealing structure melts and seals the temporary aperture (35).
Abstract:
Abstract:
A method of removing residue containing an insoluble lithium phosphate compound from a surface includes soaking the surface in a cleaning aqueous solution having a pH less than 5 for a select time period, whereby the insoluble lithium phosphate compound is converted into soluble lithium hydrogen phosphate and the soluble lithium hydrogen phosphate is dissolved in the cleaning aqueous solution. The method includes rinsing the surface with deionized water. The surface is substantially free of the insoluble lithium phosphate compound after the rinsing.
Abstract:
Described herein is functionalized glass allowing for robust attachment of extracellular matrix proteins (ECM) withstanding extended culturing periods. By first treating glass with a sulfur silane reagent, the treated glass can be activated via an amine-sulfur linker, after which ECM proteins are attached to the linker. The Inventors observed that this glass treatment combination (sulfur silane-linker-ECM) resisted degradation when compared to conventional surface coatings, such as poly-L-orthinine coated glass.
Abstract:
A glass article having an asymmetric stress profile exhibiting a high degree of asymmetry and a low degree or no warp. The glass article has a stress profile with a high Asymmetry Figure of Merit and a high Warpage Figure of Merit.
Abstract:
Methods of making a glass-based article including a surface feature thereon. Methods include arranging a glass-based substrate relative to a laser. Methods also include irradiating the glass-based substrate with laser beam with a light wavelength from about 2500 nm to about 3000 nm to grow a surface feature thereon.
Abstract:
Abstract:
