Abstract:
The present invention relates to block copolymers which are mainly based on vinylcyclohexane and to a method for producing the same. The block copolymers can be processed into shaped bodies by means of extrusion or injection moulding. The resulting shaped bodies are characterised by high thermostability, good mechanical characteristics, high transparency in the visible and near-ultraviolet spectrum, particularly low birefraction and absorption of water.

A living carbocationic catalyst composition comprising an initiator of a tertiary alkyl halide, a tertiary aralkyl halide or polymeric halide a co-initiator of a methylaluminum or methylboron compound, and a solvent medium with a dielectric constant between 2.5 and 7 is used to produce narrow molecular weight distribution polymers particularly isobutylene polymers.

The present invention relates to a compound of structure (I), wherein A is a core moiety which is selected from structure (Ia), (Ib), (Ic) and (Id), to which is attached through X, a direct valence bond or a divalent linking group, m number of linear alkylene moieties of chain length n where each said linear alkylene moiety has a terminal B reactive moiety, and further wherein * designates possible attachment point of said linear alkylene moieties in each structure, B is selected from -OH, -CH=CH2, -O-(P=O)(OR)2, -O- (P=O)(OR)Rs, -N3 and -SH, where n ranges from 8 to 12. The invention also pertains to composition comprising these compounds and the use these compositions to form self-assembled monolayers (SAM) the use of these in DSA processing as neutral or directing layers which can be removed selectively from metal substrates.and the remover solution to accomplish this selective removal.

Disclosed herein are copolymers comprising at least one block comprising C8-C12 olefin-derived units, at least one block comprising C4-C6 olefin-derived units, and at least one block comprising C5/C10 olefin-derived units, wherein each block has a number average molecular weight of at least 300 g/mole and two glass transition temperatures (Tg). The olefin block copolymers are formed by combining a first olefin with a catalyst at least a first stage to form a first olefin block, and combining a second olefin with the same or different catalyst in at least a separate stage to form a second block. The copolymers are useful as tackifiers in adhesive compositions and in films.

Foam compositions comprise at least an ethylene/α-olefin interpolymer. The ethylene/α-olefin interpolymers of the present disclosure are multi-block copolymers comprising at least one soft block and at least one hard block. The foam compositions can further comprise a blowing agent and a cross-linking agent. Methods of making the foam compositions and foamed articles made from the foam compositions are also described.
