Abstract:
The invention describes a simulated flame fire comprising a housing configured to support an active display screen. The display screen is responsive to an electrical signal to provide a flame effect display which may be viewed by a viewer to the front of the fire. The fire includes a first artificial fuel bed and a second artificial fuel bed. By positioning the display screen between the first and second artificial fuel beds the displayed flames appear to emanate from the centre of the fuel bed.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to apparatus for producing an optical effect, and in particular to an apparatus for producing an optical effect resembling flames and smoke. More especially, the invention relates to flame effect electric fires, such as for domestic use, which may or may not include means for space heating and which include and optical effect to resemble burning solid fuel.
Abstract:
A simulated fuel element for a fuel effect fire comprises a body of foam material shaped and coloured to resemble a piece of real fuel, such as a log. The foam material may be a polyurethane foam. The fuel element is substantially non-transluscent of light and may be provided with a hollow interior for the transmission of light from a light source of a fuel effect fire, giving a glowing appearance to the fuel element. The fuel element may also include crevices with which may also transmit light from the light source. Transmitted light may be reflected from dark reflective surfaces to enhance the burning appearance of the fuel element. Colour filters or the like may be used to provide coloured light incident on the fuel elements.
Abstract:
An artificial fireplace is described. The fireplace comprises a screen and a fuel bed portion. An optical element is provided which is configured to transpose an image of one of the screen and fuel bed to create the impression of a burning fire.
Abstract:
An electric fire configured to simulate fire effects is described. The fire includes a housing having a front facade defining an interior portion of the fire, the fire including a light source configured to generate lighting to effect the simulated fire effects which are then visible within the housing. The fire additionally includes perimeter lighting configured to generate a perimeter lighting effect around at least a portion of the perimeter of the fire housing so as to cast a glow around the housing.
Abstract:
An electric fire with a moveable front screen is described. The electric fire comprises a housing having fire effect means configured to generate a simulated fire effect within an interior portion of the housing. The fire includes a slideable screen located to the front of the fire effect means. The slideable screen being moveable relative to and receivable into the interior portion of the housing.
