Abstract:
Efavirenz compositions of enhanced bioavailability are described that contain efavirenz with at least one solubility-enhancing polymer. Described methods toproduce the bioenhanced products comprise solvent spray drying. One aspect of themethod includes the steps of providing a mixture comprising efavirenz, a solubility-enhancing polymer and a single solvent, a solvent blend or solvent/non-solvent blend removing and then evaporating the mixture to form amorphous efavirenz.
Abstract:
Benzoquinone compositions of enhanced solubility and bioavailability are described that contain at least one benzoquinone with at least one solubility-enhancing polymer. In one embodiment, the benzoquinone is coenzyme Q10. Described methods to produce the bioenhanced products comprise dry blending and solvent spray drying. One aspect of the method includes the steps of providing a mixture comprising benzoquinone, a solubility-enhancing polymer and a solvent and removing the solvent to form amorphous benzoquinone. Products made by the invention's compositions and methods include pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, cosmetic, and personal care products for man and animal.

Abstract:
The present invention provides a new and efficient process for the preparation of the dexmethylphenidate hydrochloride with high optical purity, the process comprising: (a) reacting a solution of threo-N-Boc-ritalinic acid with (S)-1-phenylethylamine, separating precipitated solid salt of (R,R)-enriched N-Boc-ritalinic acid with (S)-1-phenylethylamine from the reaction mixture and recrystallizing, reslurring and/or trituring of said salt; (b) mixing the solid salt of (R,R)-N-Boc-ritalinic acid and (S)-1- phenylethylamine obtained in step (a) with aqueous acid and separating (R,R)-N-Boc-ritalinic acid from the mixture; and (c) reacting the (R,R)-N-Boc-ritalinic acid prepared in step (b) with hydrogen chloride and methanol to give dexmethylphenidate hydrochloride with optical purity of at least 99% ee. The present invention further provides salt of (R,R)-N-Boc-ritalinic acid with (S)-1-phenylethylamine as new intermediate in the preparation of dexmethylphenidate hydrochloride.
Abstract:
This invention relates to photochromic filaments composed of the lithium salt of a conjugated, polymerizable polyacetylene having a carboxylic acid or carboxylate terminal group wherein the length to width ratio of said filaments is between about 5000:1 and about 5:1 and the average length of the filament is up to about 5cm. The invention also pertains to the use of said salts in maximized radiation sensitivity for imaging, radiation dose measurement or mapping and detection of radiation fields.
