Abstract:
A pressure transmitter (102) for use in measuring a pressure of a process fluid in an industrial process. The pressure transmitter (102) includes a pressure sensor (106) having a pressure output related to the pressure of the process fluid. Measurement circuitry (250) is configured to calculate a process variable of the process fluid based upon the pressure output. Diagnostic circuitry (252) diagnoses operation of the industrial process based upon a process parameter of the pressure output. Process parameter calculation circuitry (252) calculates the process parameter based upon pressure output and reduces the effect of an abrupt change in the pressure output on the calculated process parameter.

Abstract:
This invention relates to methods and systems for the quantitative analysis of glycan biosynthesis along meta pathways, and more particularly, to using a computer simulation for comparing a computer generated spectrum to experimental data to quantitatively track the biosynthesis. Computer simulating the mass spectra of isotopic detection of aminosugars with glutamine experiments allows modeling the glycan biosynthesis over time, via changes in the 14N and 15N isotope abundance levels, so as to estimate the relative abundance of molecules involved in glycan biosynthesis, from experimental mass spectra collected from different time points. The proposed approach utilizes gradient search optimization to maximize the coefficient of determination between the experimental spectrum and the simulated spectrum. These relative abundances are then fed into a pathway simulation model to analyze glycan biosynthesis. Using a computer for simulating a mass spectrum allows reconfirming the identification, quantifying the isotopic configurations and obtaining the relative abundance of each as samples are taken at periodic intervals. This information can then be organized into time-series data allowing tracking the changes in abundance levels over time. These changes can then be used to analyze the data properties of glycan biosynthesis.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, the present invention includes canisters to control storage of data in a storage system including a plurality of disks. Each of multiple canisters may have a processor configured for uniprocessor mode and having an internal node identifier to identify the processor and an external node identifier to identify another processor with which it is to mirror cached data. The mirroring of cached data may be performed by communication of non-coherent transactions via the PtP interconnect, wherein the PtP interconnect is according to a cache coherent protocol. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Abstract:
Embodiments herein provide a nanoparticle, such as a metal nanoparticle, coupled to a linker molecule to form a nanoparticle-linker construct. In an embodiment, a nanoparticle-linker construct may be further bound to a substrate to take advantage of one or more properties of the nanoparticle. In an embodiment, a functionalized nanoparticle (a nanoparticle having a reactive functionality) may be bound to a linker to form a functionalized nanoparticle-linker construct which may in-turn be bound to a substrate.
Abstract:
A method comprises sensing a differential pressure signal [64, 74], filtering the differential pressure signal [66, 76], generating a flooding indicator as a function of the filtered differential pressure signal, and indicating the onset of flooding [70, 80]. The differential pressure signal is sensed along a distillation flow path [16]. The filtered differential pressure signal is responsive to a phase inversion along the flow path, and the flooding indicator is responsive to an onset of a flooding condition, based on the phase inversion. The onset of the flooding condition is indicated based on a change in the flooding indicator.
Abstract:
A system for preventing abnormal situations in process plants is provided. A polynomial regression model is employed to predict values of a monitored variable based on measured samples of a load variable. An abnormal situation is detected when a predicted value of the monitored variable differs from a measured value of the monitored variable by more than a predetermined. The system recognizes when a data model is invalid and takes steps to compensate for the invalid model.
