Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The method may include receiving, from a base station and while the UE is operating in a first mode, a broadcast transmission that includes a reference signal configuration for communications between the base station and the UE, the reference signal configuration indicating one or more reference signal parameters and the first mode being either an idle mode or an inactive mode, receiving, while operating in the first mode, one or more reference signals from the base station in accordance with the reference signal configuration, and determining one or more channel measurements based on the one or more reference signals received from the base station.

Abstract: Aspects presented herein may enable reduced capability UEs to support certain type of services with strict delay but limited throughput, while less parallel hardware or computational resources may be used by the reduced capability UEs. In one aspect, a UE reports multiple UE capabilities to a base station, each capability including a set of one or more processing time parameters for a group of HARQ processes. Then the UE receives downlink communication from the base station based on a number of HARQ processes. Then the UE processes the downlink communication from the base station based on a UE capability corresponding to the number of HARQ processes.

Then the UE processes the downlink communication from the base station and providing HARQ feedback based on the reported UE capability (e.g., based on the number of available HARQ process unit (s) at the UE).

Abstract: A configuration that enables a UE to process a PDSCH DMRS bundle having a higher density of DMRS symbols at a beginning of the PDSCH DMRS bundle. The apparatus receives a PDSCH and DMRS in each slot of a plurality of slots, the DMRS being bundled across the plurality of slots, a first subset of slots of the plurality of slots each having a higher DMRS symbol density of DMRS than a second subset of slots of the plurality of slots, the second subset of slots being subsequent to the first subset of slots. The apparatus decodes each received PDSCH based on at least a subset of the received DMRS.

A user equipment (UE) and a base station may communicate using demodulation reference signal enhancements for control channel repetitions. The UE and the base station may identify a configuration to use to receive or transmit a set of repetitions of control information on a downlink control channel, each repetition of the set of repetitions including one or more symbol periods for an instance of the repeated control information. The base station may transmit, and the UE may receive, a first set of demodulation reference signals in accordance with a first set of parameter values, a second set of demodulation reference signals in accordance with a second set of parameter values, and instances of the control information during the set of repetitions. The UE may decode the control information based on the received signals and configuration.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a base station may determine that a distance between an end of a first downlink control information (DCI) and a corresponding first physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) and a distance between an end of a second DCI and a corresponding second PDSCH satisfy a minimum distance threshold for a user equipment (UE). The ends of the DCIs are to be received at the same symbol. The base station may transmit the first DCI, the first PDSCH, the second DCI, and the second PDSCH based at least in part on determining that the distances satisfy the minimum distance threshold. In some aspects, the UE may decode the first and second DCIs in an order that depends on DCI properties. Numerous other aspects are provided.

A user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration signal mapping each of a plurality of receive port identifiers of the UE to at least one repetition of a multi-repetition downlink transmission, wherein different receive port identifiers are mapped to different repetitions of the multi-repetition downlink transmission. The UE may transmit, based at least in part on the mapping, one or more uplink reference signals using transmission ports corresponding to each receive port identifier that is mapped to at least one repetition of the multi-repetition downlink transmission. The UE may receive the multi-repetition downlink transmission according to the mapping and based at least in part on the one or more uplink reference signals.
