Abstract: Aspects described herein relate to configuring and selecting preamble and payload occasions for performing two-step random access procedures. Configurations on preamble occasions, payload occasions, association pattern between the occasions and synchronization signal block (SSB) beams, and the rules for selecting preamble and payload occasions for random access message transmission can be determined by the network and signaled to user equipment (UE). Based on the configurations and rules, UE can measure the link level quality and select possible preamble and payload occasions for one or more SSB beams achieving a threshold signal quality. Sets of one or more preamble occasions and one or more payload occasions can be further determined based on whether the preamble and payload occasion (s) can achieve a threshold transmission latency. The one or more preamble occasions and one or more payload occasions can be used to transmit random access messages in the two-step random access procedure.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for a hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) procedure for the random access channel (RACH) response message in a two-step RACH procedure. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes sending a RACH message to a base station (BS) during a two-step RACH procedure. The RACH message includes a RACH preamble and a RACH payload. The UE monitors a RACH response message from the BS during a random access response (RAR) window. The UE transmits a retransmission of the RACH message, an acknowledgement (ACK) to the RACH response message, a negative acknowledgment (NACK) to the RACH response message, or does not transmit, to the BS based on whether a RACH response message carrying a success RAR or a fallback RAR, or no RACH response message, is received from the BS during the RAR window.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that support virtual resource block (RB) to physical RB mapping in duplex slots. The described techniques enable a user equipment (UE) to select an interleaving configuration such as a full duplex or half duplex interleaving configuration for a slot that may be configured for full duplex communications. In some cases, the UE may use a default interleaving configuration for a given slot or may determine the interleaving configuration based on a bandwidth part (BWP) position or resource bandwidth within the slot, such as a location within the frequency domain of a downlink BWP relative to an uplink BWP.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may group, into a common slot, a first plurality of consecutive uplink slots included in a first component carrier and a second plurality of consecutive uplink slots included in a second component carrier. The UE may determine whether an uplink transmission is scheduled in at least one of the first plurality of consecutive uplink slots or the second plurality of consecutive uplink slots. The UE may transmit on the first component carrier or on the second component carrier in the common slot or determine whether to switch a transmit chain based at least in part on whether an uplink transmission is scheduled in at least one of the first plurality of consecutive uplink slots or the second plurality of consecutive uplink slots. A user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration identifying a first set of frequency resources for transmitting a sounding reference signal, where the sounding reference signal may be used at least for downlink channel state information acquisition. The UE may receive an indication of an association between the configuration for the sounding reference signal and a second set of frequency resources and determine, based on the association, values for one or more sounding reference signal transmission parameters for the first set of frequency resources. The UE may transmit the sounding reference signal on the first set of frequency resources based on the determined one or more values.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to the timing arrangements and the transmission gap configurations in 2-step random access channel (RACH) procedures to improve system latency and reliability of a RACH HARQ process are provided. The UE transmits a first message including a random access preamble and a payload, and then monitors for a second message in response to the first message during a random access response (RAR) window. In response to determining that no second message is received by the UE from the BS or a back off indicator is received within the RAR window, the UE re-transmits the preamble and payload of the first message after the RAR window lapses. In response to determining if the second message received within the RAR window carries a FallbackRAR or SuccessRAR, the UE then determines to re-transmit the payload of the first message based on the FallbackRAR, or to transmit an acknowledgement message based on the SuccessRAR.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE), served by a cell of a base station, may identify a time division duplexing (TDD) configuration for a first cell, wherein the TDD configuration includes a symbol pattern for a slot. The base station may determine an overlap between a downlink symbol or a flexible symbol and an uplink symbol during symbols of the slot based on a TDD configuration. A first UE may receive a configuration for transmitting a cross-link interference (CLI) sounding reference signal (SRS) to a second UE according to the configuration. The second UE may measure the CLI SRS and report the measurement.
