Abstract:
A walker to assist a person rising from a seated position, the walker comprising: two or more front legs each having a proximal end, a center and a distal end, the distal end being adapted to contact the ground, one or more cross members secured to and joining the front legs to one another, a handle engaged to the proximal end of each front leg, a joint mechanism engaged to each the front leg, and a rear leg having a proximal end and a distal end, the proximal end being engaged to each joint mechanism allowing the rear legs to pivot relative to the front legs.
Abstract:
An assistive device having: a chassis; a handle assembly pivotally attached to said chassis, said chassis comprising a handle chassis portion for receiving a handle assembly and a platform chassis portion extending from said handle chassis portion with a standing platform; a locking mechanism operable to place and lock said handle assembly into a plurality of positions; a lever mechanism coupled to said locking mechanism to actuate said locking mechanism; and wherein said plurality of positions correspond to one of a loading position, an upright position and a storage position.
Abstract:
Equipment for raising of a lying person. The equipment comprises: a seat (1), a backrest (2), which from a first position can be passed to a second position behind the back of the person, and a chassis (3) with an upper end to which the seat is connected and a lowermost end adapted to rest on a surface such as a floor. The equipment is to be placed on the surface positioned to the person such that the seat is placed under the behind of the person and from this first position the equipment with the person can be passed to a second position in which the chassis with its lower end rests on the surface such that the seat and backrest is raised relative to the surface e.g. to take a chair-like posture or a catapult position i.e. an upright position in which the person will be assisted to a standing position.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an aid device for raising, rotation and transfer of a user, comprising a holder for receiving a strap connected to a belt which is worn by the user. The aid device comprises a base plate, for placement of the feet of the user, and a supporting device that is connected to the base plate, for supporting the user during the raising, rotation and/or transfer. The supporting device comprises a ladder portion having at least a first and a second graspable rung for aiding the user during the raising, rotation and/or transfer. It further comprises a holder for releasably holding a strap connected to the user. The holder projects from the first graspable rung towards the second graspable rung such that a gap is formed between a projecting end of the holder and the second graspable rung.
Abstract:
A system for use with a bed having a frame and a supporting surface includes a base sheet having a top surface and a bottom surface adapted to be placed above the supporting surface, and a glide sheet positioned above the top surface of the base sheet. The base sheet has fasteners located around the peripheral edges, which are configured to releasably fasten the base sheet to the bed. The base sheet and the glide sheet each have a tether strap, and the tether straps are configured to be connected together to secure the glide sheet in place. One or both of the tether straps may include at least a portion that is elastic. The system may also include a wedge, where the wedge has a hook-and-loop or other releasable connecting material that is configured for connection to a complementary connecting material on the base sheet and/or the glide sheet.
Abstract:
In a method for moving a disabled person 27 from a sitting position on the edge of a bed to a lying position, while the person is sitting upright a cross bar of the appliance is inserted behind the upper legs. Then the disabled person 27 takes hold of the ends of the cross bar after which the cross bar is pushed up at a bow and the upper body is moved backwards at a bow while the person tilts on his or her bottom until his or her feet are at a higher level than the top of the mattress of the bed. Then the person is turned for about a quarter of a turn until his or her legs have come above the bed. Subsequently, the cross bar is pushed up at a bow and/or the upper body is moved further backwards at a bow until the person rests with his or her back on the bed.
Abstract:
The invention describes a disposable patient transfer assembly comprising a first or uppermost- in-use layer (10), a second or intermediate layer (11) and a third or lowermost-in-use layer (12), wherein said first layer (10) is adapted to minimise the damage to a patient's skin when disposed against the skin of a patient, said second layer (11) is liquid absorbent and said third layer (12) is adapted to be substantially impermeable to the passage of fluids. It also describes a disposable mat assembly comprising a first or uppermost-in-use layer (131), a second or intermediate layer (132) and a third or lowermost-in-use layer (133), wherein said first layer (131) is adapted to be resistant to tearing when walked on, said second layer (132) is liquid absorbent and said third layer (133) is adapted to be substantially impermeable to the passage of fluids. Said mat assembly further comprises a fourth, adhesive layer.

Abstract:
A personal mobility device comprising a base and a support system attached thereto, the base comprising an elevator mechanism adapted to raise and lower at least a portion of the base relative to the ground
Abstract:
Apparatus for transportation of a disabled person in standing position by which apparatus the person is able by his own strength to rise himself from a sitting position to a standing position, including a wheeled base (1) in the form of an U- shaped frame provided with a footrest (3) and a post (2) , which supports at least one support frame (5) . The support frame (5) comprises two legs (6a, 6b) , which each at its end support through locking means (7a, 7b) an arm (8a, 8b) , which is fixed in the longitudinal direction but pivotally arranged in the locking means, and that each arm (8a, 8b) has a supporting means (9) arranged in such a way that, when a person is standing, it can be pivoted behind the person, so that the person will be enclosed by the post (2) , the support frame (5) , the legs (8a, 8b) , and the supporting means (9) .
