Abstract:
Medical lifting devices and methods are disclosed. A medical lifting device includes a brace and at least one strap. The brace is adapted to be positioned against the back of a patient. The brace has a pair of opposed lateral edges. The at least one strap extends from each lateral edge of the brace. The at least one strap has a length sufficient to enable a user of the device to grasp each strap while the user is standing with the user's torso in an upright position and the patient is in a seated position. A method of lifting a patient with the brace includes positioning the brace against the back of a patient, grasping each strap while standing in an upright position and while the patient is in a seated position, and pulling on each strap to lift the patient to a standing position.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The presently disclosed subject matter provides a wheelchair having a frame and a wheels mounted thereto, the wheelchair comprising: a removable seat having a rigid mount portion, a frame mounting element rigidly coupled to the frame and configured for rigidly coupling to the mount portion, and an adjusting mechanism coupled to the mounting element for adjusting the disposition thereof with respect to the mount portion.
Abstract:
A support device for lifting and transporting a patient is disclosed. The support device has a frame mounted on a support base that is equipped with wheels and a brake. Coupling means for coupling to a lifting seat are also provided on the frame. Long handles are attached to the frame, to provide a significant mechanical advantage to an operator. By lifting on the handles, the operator may tilt the frame on the support base and bring it down close to a seated patient, so that the couplers of the lifting seat may be coupled to the coupling means on the frame. Once the lifting seat is coupled to the frame, the operator can move the lifting handles back to a resting position, to lift the patient in the lifting seat. The lifting handles and wheels allow the operator to guide the support device to a desired location, where the patient is not lowered to a chair or a bed.
Abstract:
An apparatus in an example comprises a seat, a torso support, and a connector. The seat comprises a rigid core. The torso support is coupled with the seat. The connector is coupled with the seat and/or the torso support. The connector is removably connectable with an accessory that serves to at least in part support a weight of a patient relative to a load-bearing surface. A location of the patient on the seat with a front of the patient faced toward the torso support and the connector coupled with the accessory allows control by a caregiver of an upper body of the patient for and during transfer of the patient by the caregiver from a start location to a target location.
Abstract:
The object of this invention is to create a limb support which can be used e.g. during the preoperative antibacterial skin wash of patient’s limb. According to the invention, the limb support is of the kind in which the base is in one vertical plane tilt supported and in the respective verticuloperpendicular plane freely tilting. In this way the limb support becomes stable and easy to use.
Abstract:
The foot plate (1) consists of a circular metal disc, with a diameter substantially equal to that of the platform (2), while the platform (2), also made of sheet metal, is integral with a circular protective edge (1b) extending to the foot plate, and the bottom elements (4a) of the two vertical members are linked by a horizontal cross member (10), which, arranged at the level of an adult's knee, is itself reinforced by a sloping bar (11) extending between said cross member and the front part of the platform (2).
Abstract:
A portable bathing seat is described. The portable bathing seat includes a platform having a top surface and a bottom surface, a first long side, a second long side, a first short side and a second short side. The platform is secured above a bathing surface by at least two legs that each have one or more feet that engage the bathing surface or an adjacent surface. The platform also includes a transfer area proximal the first short side and the transfer area is advantageously at a wheelchair transfer height. The portable bathing seat also includes a transfer pommel secured to the platform proximal the first short side and a handle secured to the platform proximal the second short side. The portable bathing seat also includes a ballast reservoir positioned below the platform and configured to hold a ballast for providing stability to the portable bathing seat.
