Abstract:
The fastening means (2) according to the invention serves for fixing an object on a base (11). The fastening means (2) consists of an aerobic adhesive (3) and a free-flowing substance. The aerobic adhesive (3) is stored in a first receptacle with an associated first withdrawal means. The first withdrawal means is formed in such a way that it generates a layer of aerobic adhesive (3) having a height profile on the base (11). The second withdrawal means is formed in such a way that a surface layer formed by the free-flowing substance is formed on the layer of aerobic adhesive (3) having a height profile. By pressing on the object, volumetric incorporations of the free-flowing substance in the aerobic adhesive (3) are formed on the thus formed layer structure. In a preferred embodiment, the aerobic adhesive is formed by modified silane polymers (MS polymers) and the free-flowing substance is water.
Abstract:
A device that can be used to spread a thin, even coating of liquid material on a surface is provided. In one embodiment the device is adapted to be used to apply floor coating on a floor surface. The device is configured such that the applicator portion of the device applies a generally constant contact force on the surface, even when the force applied by the user on the tool varies.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a device (10) for spreading an adhesive on a surface. The device (10) comprises an elongated section with a handle portion (13) for holding the device (10), a substantially straight adhesive spreading edge (12) extending along one side of the device (10) and at least two elements (20) protruding from the adhesive spreading edge (20). The elements (20) are placed transverse to the adhesive spreading edge (12). Furthermore, the elements (20) has a contact surface (22) that is shaped like a circular arc and the adhesive spreading edge (12) is placed in the centre of the circular arc so that the distance from the spreading edge (12) to the contact surface (22) is equal to the desired adhesive layer thickness. The present invention also relates to a method for manufacturing a device (10) for spreading an adhesive.
Abstract:
A paint applicator (1) has a handle (3) with a first connecting piece (5) connected to it. The first connecting piece is formed by a flat strip, which forms one whole with the handle. The paint applicator (1) also has a flexible carrier (9) with a second connecting piece (11) fastened to it, which is formed by a cover that is pushed over the first connecting piece (5). A smoothing-out device (13) is present around the carrier (9) that is composed of a liquid absorbing layer and a smoothing layer fastened to it. The smoothing layer is a low-pile polyester substance, which consists of about 80% polyester and 20% cotton. The paint applicator (1) according to the invention can apply an even, thin layer of paint to a surface with a single stroke. The carrier (9) is provided with holes (19). This means that the paint taken up, which is present on one side of the carrier, can flow via these holes easily and quickly to the other side of the carrier.
Abstract:
Methods and compositions for applying a faux finish to a surface; as with a water-based base/primer to initially coat the surface with a base coat that is highly viscous and includes a relatively high percentage of solids that provide a three-dimensional coating having upwardly extending solids; the process may include applying a heavy coating of a second base coat, containing said solid particles, using a roller or sponge roller to provide raised areas (a multi-level surface); optionally applying one or more additional heavy base coats, in the same or different directions; optionally immediately flattening a portion of the surface of the base coat(s); rolling or spraying on a final coating of a glaze coat having a different color or tint than the base coat(s); and moving a portion of the glaze coat, preferably with a squeegee from higher areas to lower areas to visibly uncover a portion of the base coat, or to reveal a different shade of the base coat, due to a thinner glaze coat in higher areas where the glaze coat was moved, in a regular pattern.
Abstract:
A method and tools operative for treatment of a substance (300) in association with a surface (401, 407) of an object or body (400) have a first treatment tool (100) and a second backing tool (200). The treatment tool has a rigid retention portion (103) and a treatment portion (105), and is manufactured as a single integrated tool. A backbone (505) extends in cantilever out of the retention portion to support a resilient and flexible blade (109), retained at a twist angle relative to the handle. The blade is configured for controlled deflection about the backbone (501) when vertical forces in excess of a predetermined force are met, to prevent damage to the surface or to the object. The retention portion and the treatment portion are disposed in mutual angular spatial relationship for ease of use of the tool. The backing tool supports the object during treatment.
Abstract:
Apparatus for use with a hand manipulable flowable material dispenser, the combination comprising a dispensing nozzle associated with the dispenser to dispense material, and a spreader surface associated with the nozzle whereby the dispenser may be manipulated to cause the spreader surface to spread material dispensed via the nozzle, and the spreader surface can be used to spread material around after it is dispensed.
Abstract:
A spreader includes a first and second preformed components of resilient PVC sheet and deformable PVC sheet, respectively, bonded together and shaped to form a blister-shaped sealed container filled with spackling material or paste. The resilient sheet forms an enlarged blade suitable for spreading the spackling material and forms an opening at the one end for dispensing the spackling material onto the blade and includes ribs to stiffen the blade. A hole in the other end forms a docking station. A resilient plug fits in the opening to seal the opening to maintain the spackling material for later use, and is repositionable into the docking station for holding the plug while using the spreader. The container is suitably sized for grasping and manipulating the blade while dispensing material.
Abstract:
The system for applying plastering material and filler material on areas to be worked consists of a pump, a hose and a smoothing tool. The system is characterized in that the plastering material or the filler material can be applied with minimum expenditure of time. There is hardly need for protecting the area not to be worked and the system can be cleaned easily.
Abstract:
A profiling device (1) for removing excess hardenable filling material from a complex surface, such as the damaged surface of a vehicle body, comprising an elongate body (5) having a core (2) which allows the body to bend, under manual pressure, preferentially in one plane and which retains its arcuate shape once bent manually to that shape, and a parallel blade (9) depending in the bending plane from a longitudinal edge of the elongate body, the width of the blade being less than the width of the body.
