Abstract: A system for controlling the temperature of the interior of a vehicle, e.g. a railway carriage, comprises a refrigerant circuit (18) having an evaporator (21) through which air is passed to outlets (24) to the interior of the vehicle, the condensor (25) of the refrigerant circuit being cooled by liquid-containing pipes (26, 27) which extend over the entire height of the vehicle to a liquid/air heat exchanger (19); refrigerant unit (18) is arranged in or on the roof of the vehicle and heat exchanger (19) is arranged on or under the floor of the vehicle, or vice versa. The refrigerant circuit comprises a rotary-vane compressor (20) driven by a single phase electric motor. Heating means may also be provided. In a modification, (Fig. 5, not shown) a refrigerant circuit (118) is arranged under the vehicle and is air-cooled; a refrigerant/liquid heat exchanger (151) thermally linked to the refrigerant circuit (118) is coupled to a water/air heat exchanger (152) at the roof of the vehicle by means of liquid-containing pipes (155, 156) which extend over the entire height of the vehicle.

Das Lüftungssystem (1) umfasst ferner eine Steuerungsvorrichtung (6), die dazu eingerichtet ist, die wenigstens zwei Abluftvorrichtungen (5) auf Grundlage der ortsaufgelöst ermittelten Temperaturen unabhängig voneinander anzusteuern.
