    Abstract: A method of preparing a composition for forming a release coating is disclosed. The method comprises preparing a reaction product comprising a polyorganohydrogensiloxane compound having cyclic SiH-functional branching groups interconnected by linear polydiorganosiloxane segments (the "branched cyclic polyorganohydrogensiloxane compound"), by combining together (A) a hydroxyl terminated polydiorganosiloxane and (B) a cyclic polyorganohydrogensiloxane, in the presence of (C) a boron containing Lewis acid and a solvent. A release coating composition including the reaction product comprising the branched cyclic polyorganohydrogensiloxane is also disclosed. The reaction product may be combined with or prepared in the presence of a polyorganohydrogensiloxane diluent and stripped of solvent to prepare the composition as a blend of the branched cyclic polyorganohydrogensiloxane and the polyorganohydrogensiloxane diluent for use in solventless-curable compositions.

    Abstract: A method of preparing an alkoxy-functional organosiloxane compound is provided. The method comprises reacting (A) an initial organosiloxane compound and (B) an alcohol component in the presence of (C) a catalyst and, optionally, (D) an organosilicon compound, thereby preparing the alkoxy-functional organosiloxane compound. The initial organosiloxane compound (A) comprises at least one silanol group. The alcohol component (B) comprises an organic alcohol. The catalyst (C) comprises an ammonium carboxylate compound. The organosilicon compound (D), when utilized, comprises at least one alkoxysilyl group. A reaction product comprising an alkoxy-functional organosiloxane compound prepared in accordance with the method, and compositions comprising the reaction product and the alkoxy-functional organosiloxane compound are also provided. The alkoxy-functional organosiloxane compound, and the reaction product and composition comprising the same, are prepared in increased purity low cyclic content from depolymerization.

    Abstract: A networked silicone is disclosed. The networked silicone comprises crosslinked strands of looped organosilicon compounds. A composition for preparing the networked silicone is also disclosed, and comprises (A) a looped organosilicon compound, (B) a crosslinking organosilicon compound, and optionally (C) a catalyst. Additionally, a method of preparing the networked silicone is disclosed, and comprises reacting the looped organosilicon compound (A) and the crosslinking organosilicon compound (B), optionally in the presence of the catalyst (C), to give the networked silicone. A reaction product comprising the networked silicone is also disclosed. The reaction product is prepared from the composition and/or in accordance with the method, and may be a cured product. Additionally, a composite article and a method of forming the same are disclosed. The composite article is formed by disposing a networked silicone composition on the substrate and curing the networked silicone composition, thereby preparing the composite article.

    Abstract: An improved electro-hydraulic modulating valve pedal assembly is provided. The pedal assembly is adapted to control the flow of hydraulic fluid manually through actuation of a pedal, electrically through activation of a solenoid, or in combination through actuation of a pedal and activation of a solenoid. In one embodiment, the pedal assembly includes a pedal that is pivotably mounted to a base, a push rod that is operatively coupled to the pedal, a spool valve that is configured to vary the hydraulic output in response to the position of the push rod, and a solenoid that is magnetically coupled to the push rod. The pedal assembly is well suited for electronic-hydraulic braking control systems, including brake electronic control units for anti-lock braking, emergency braking, and autonomous operation.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method for preparing a nanoparticle composition. The method includes hydrogenating a hydrocarbon oil comprising a hydrocarbon having a carbon-carbon multiple bond, to give a hydrogenated hydrocarbon oil. The method further comprises forming a nanoparticle aerosol in a plasma reactor. The nanoparticle aerosol comprises MH-functional nanoparticles in a gas, where M is an independently selected Group IV element. The method also comprises collecting the MH-functional nanoparticles of the aerosol in a capture fluid comprising the hydrogenated hydrocarbon oil, thereby preparing the nanoparticle composition.     Abstract: A silicon glycan is provided. The silicon glycan comprises a glycoside moiety, independently selected organosilicon moieties, and beta-amino alcohol moieties joining the organosilicon moieties to the glycoside moiety. The glycoside moiety comprises independently selected saccharide moieties, which may be substituted with hydrocarbyl groups, ether moieties, and/or amine moieties. A method of preparing the silicon glycan is also provided. The method includes reacting (A) an aminoethyl polysaccharide and (B) an epoxide-functional organosilicon compound, to give the silicon glycan. The method may include preparing the aminoethyl polysaccharide (A) by first reacting (At) a hydroxyl- functional polysaccharide and (A2) an aziridinium halide compound to give the aminoethyl polysaccharide (A).
