Abstract:
Method for manufacturing a plastic fuel tank provided with at least one accessory connected to the internal space of the tank via at least one orifice (12) in the wall (10) of the tank. The method comprises the steps consisting in: providing a multilayer film (16), that includes at least one fuel-barrier layer; providing a cover (14) intended to cover the orifice (12) in the wall (10) of the tank; fastening the cover (14) to the multilayer film (16), thus forming a fuel-barrier cover/film assembly (13); covering the orifice (12) in the wall (10) of the tank with the cover/film assembly (13); and attaching the cover/film assembly (13) to the fuel tank.
Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a polymeric inner liner for a storage tank, in particular for a hydrogen storage tank, wherein the method comprises the steps of: providing a cylindrical body made from polymer material and comprising a structural layer and a barrier layer, said cylindrical body having a first open end and a first peripheral connection tab at said open end; providing a dome-shaped end cap made from polymer material, the end cap having a base with a cross-section essentially corresponding to a cross-section of the first open end of the cylindrical body and having a second peripheral connection tab at a peripheral end portion of said end cap; placing the end cap with its base onto the first open end of the cylindrical body and with said first and second peripheral tabs in contact with each other; and welding both connection tabs together. Storage tank made using such a liner and use of such a tank for storing hydrogen.

ABSTRACT Safety system for a filler pipe Safety system for a filler pipe for filling a tank, in particular a fuel tank, the filler pipe including a pipe head suitable for receiving a delivery nozzle (20, 24; 66, 68), the system including a valve (10; 50) mounted in the tank filler pipe head, in which system the valve (10; 50) is mounted so as to be able to swing about a swing axis (16; 56) between a closed position and an open position, the swing axis (16; 56) being essentially tangential to the periphery of the valve (10; 50). The valve (10; 50) is kept in its closed position outside the filling periods by a prestressing means and is swung into its open position by a force exerted by a free end (30, 32; 64, 70) of a delivery nozzle (20, 24; 66, 68) against a contact face of the valve (10; 50) during insertion of the delivery nozzle (20, 24; 66, 68) into the filler pipe. According to an important aspect of the present invention the valve (10; 50) is a valve for closing off tightly a capless filler pipe and it includes a stop device on its contact face, the stop device being designed so as to allow the insertion only of a suitable delivery nozzle (24; 68) into the filler pipe, preventing the insertion of an unsuitable delivery nozzle (20; 66).
Abstract:
Process and equipment for manufacturing a fuel tank provided with internal accessories Process for manufacturing a fuel tank provided with internal accessories, based on a plastic parison, which is split or in at least two parts, in which process the accessories are positioned on the parison while it is being moulded, using a core (1) forming part of a mould which also comprises dies (2a, 2b), and in which process said core is able to move in a controlled manner at a variable speed and/or between optional stop positions of variable duration.
Abstract:
Method for producing a fuel tank provided with internal accessories and having a wall made of plastic made in a single piece by moulding a split parison or a parison in at least two parts, said method comprising the following steps: a) the parison is introduced in the heat-softened state into a mould comprising dies; b) a core on which the accessories are placed is introduced inside the parison; c) the parison is pressed onto the dies of the mould; d) the accessories are fastened to the parison with the aid of the core in an ideal layout; e) the core is withdrawn and the mould is closed; f) the tank is moulded from the parison; and g) the tank is removed from the mould.
Abstract:
