    Abstract: A spectrophotometric system includes a zoom lens assembly that is mounted for axial translation relative to an integrating sphere. The zoom lens assembly includes first and second focusing lens mounted to an axially movable lens carrier. The lens carrier is positioned intermediate first and second sets of mirrors for reflecting/directing SCE and SCI beams toward fiber ports. A reference beam is also emitted from the integrating sphere and transmitted to a processor, thereby resulting in simultaneous tri-beam measurements. The disclosed spectrophotometric systems may also include an aperture plate detection assembly and/or a sample holder assembly that incorporates a dampening gas spring. The aperture plate detection system includes a detection disk that may include a plurality of pre-positioned sensors that interact with an activating ridge formed on the aperture plate for identification thereof.

    Abstract: A makeup counseling apparatus comprises a computer provided at the base part and used for image processing and counseling; first image display means provided on the computer and used for displaying an image processed by the computer to a subject; second display means provided on the computer, with the display screen directed oppositely to that of the first display means, and used for displaying the processed image to the counselor, and imaging means provided near the first image display means, directed toward the display screen of the first image display means, and used for imaging an object and capturing the image of the face of the subject into the computer. The scale of the apparatus is small, and the structure is simple. Therefore the apparatus is preferably used for the counselor to counsel the subject about the makeup.

    Abstract: If materials of spatially and/or time-variable surfaces are measured by spectroscopic measurement, the varying distance to the surfaces results in substantial error rates when the signal intensities are detected and evaluated on the basis of said spectrums. According to the invention, the derivations in terms of the wavelength of continuously detected spectrums are evaluated instead of their intensities or absorptions, thereby removing the effects of the spatially and/or time-variable distance of the material surface to the source of radiation. Additionally, a series of mechanical measures are provided which minimize the unavoidable varying distances between sensor and sample already before the measurements are taken.
