Abstract:
An electronic screen display (60) includes a screen (52), a memory (56) storing digital content for display on the screen (52), a processor (55) communicatively coupled to the memory (56) and the screen (52), and a sensor (54) communicatively coupled to the processor (55). The processor (55) obtains digital content from the memory and generates signals causing a primary display to appear on the screen (52). The sensor (54) is activated by sensing a light signal emitted from an external device being used to read information from the primary display, and causes the processor (55) to obtain further digital content from the memory (56) and generate signals causing a secondary display to appear on the screen (52).
Abstract:
An electronic screen display includes a screen, a memory storing digital content for display on the screen, a processor communicatively coupled to the memory and the screen, and a sensor communicatively coupled to the processor. The processor obtains digital content from the memory and generates signals causing a primary display to appear on the screen. The sensor is activated by sensing a light signal emitted from an external device being used to read information from the primary display, and causes the processor to obtain further digital content from the memory and generate signals causing a secondary display to appear on the screen. A corresponding display method includes displaying primary digital content on a screen, sensing a light signal emitted from an external device being used to read information from the screen, and in response to the sensing the light signal, causing secondary digital content to appear on the screen.
Abstract:
A device is presented capable of producing on a display that may be attached to an item of clothing an image based on a signal received from a wireless communication device.
Abstract:
An electronic price tag is adapted for wireless adjustment, which consists of a display placard mounted to the goods at, for example, a point of manufacture for the goods; a plurality of price display fields on the placard; a receiver/decoder horn mounted to the placard for receiving signals from a remote location and decoding same to be inputted to the price display field. Additionally, the price tag of the present invention permits the retailer to maintain in confidence and secrecy price information pertaining to the specific goods, i.e. the goods are not routed through a supplier or other third parties that would obtain knowledge of the retailer's pricing-strategy. The price tag of the present invention is also provided with a transponder to confirm receipt and acceptance of pricing information generated from the remote location so that inventory control can be conducted at a selected period of time or with respect to any price adjustment to the goods. The price display fields are electronic, such as liquid crystal display (LCDs) or electronic ink.
Abstract:
A system and method for remotely updating messages displayed on a plurality of low power consuming electronic display devices. The system comprises a server computer remotely located from a bistable display device which is in wireless communication with a computer network connected to said server computer. The server computer manages the updating and display of messages on the display device by providing new content and scheduling the display of the content. Except when changing the message display or communicating with the server computer, the display device operates in a low power mode
Abstract:
An apparatus (2) and method for the simultaneous (Fig 1b) presentation of a performance script or other commentary, dialogue or visual information available in the original language or multiple translations which can be selected by the user on portable wireless devices.
Abstract:
The invention concerns an electronic label system comprising a central station and a plurality of distributed electronic labels, and communication means in particular wireless communication means for transmitting data particularly price data from the central station to the labels. The invention is characterised in that each label comprises a set of price registers and a set of coefficient registers and includes a display unit comprising at least two price displaying zones, and the data transmitted from the central station to a label comprise instructions for assignment between a computed price equal to the price contained in the price register multiplied by a given coefficient, and a zone displaying a given price. Time-out instructions are also provided. The invention is useful in particular for displaying prices in shops.
Abstract:
An electronic display unit for an electronic shelf price label ("ESPL") system is disclosed that draws substantially no power to maintain the display. The electronic display unit comprises an updateable bistable electrophoretic display medium for displaying information and at least one electrode. In addition, the electronic display unit may be in electrical communication with an information updating unit. The information updating unit updates the information displayed by the display unit in response to a control signal or an environmental condition. The electronic display unit is capable of: (1) being manufactured by printing techniques; (2) being made in a lightweight and flexible form; and (3) holding an image power draw.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a method and a device for indicating prices, designation of an article or similar types of information on supports for goods in departmental stores or warehouses. The device is characterised by a graphic display system comprising bistable image cells requiring energy supply only when the image content is modified. The display of the article designation together with its price and other types of information simplifies the installation of the device by establishing a reference between the number of the article to be labelled, the electronic label identification number and an identification number for the site of the article on its support, whereto are added the designation and the price of the article stored in a control unit by means of a mobile data acquiring apparatus, the whole forming a data set for the article. The display device placed on the goods support has an image zone consisting of parallel display channels connected to non-visible overflow channels. At least two contrasting fluids are delivered into the display channels by micro-pumps operating alternately, on the basis of the image content to be produced, the required image quality being ensured by a phase-locking circuit wherein are integrated the micro-pumps and the sensors.
Abstract:
A product information display system has electronic display tags (20) for displaying pricing and product information for products in stores and warehouses. The electronic display tags (20) are electromagnetically coupled to a conductor (C1-Cn). A control circuit (31) is used to generate an information signal which contains a tag address and related data. A modulator circuit modulates an a-c power signal with the information signal and applies it to the conductor for transmission to the display tags (20). An electrical power system (28) supplies a-c power to the display tags (20). A main power distribution loop is connected to the power supply (28) and is magnetically coupled to multiple branch power distribution loops which extend along selected groups of display tags (20) for supplying power to those display tags (20).
