Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a substrate, in particular textile material to which one or more antimicrobial and/or hydrophilic and/or stain release agents are adhered. The agent(s) is/are adhered to the substrate in such a manner that they are not released from the textile even if the textile is wetted or washed, so that the textile is reusable. Washability and/or usability of the textile are improved where one or more hydrophilic and/or stain release agents are adhered to the textile. The substrate can be used, e.g., in a reusable sanitary napkin or other hygiene product. The structure of the hygiene product is disclosed, together with a process of attaching the different layers of the hygiene product together by ultrasonic welding. The invention further relates to a method of finishing a substrate by applying and binding antimicrobial and/or hydrophilic and/or stain release agents to the substrate so that the agents are essentially irreversibly adhered to the finished substrate.
Abstract:
An absorbent article comprising a first and second plurality of elastics. The first plurality of elastics may be disposed in a front and a crotch region. The second plurality of elastics may be disposed in a back region and the crotch region. The first and second plurality of elastics may be linear and parallel with a transverse axis of the article.
Abstract:
A disposable absorbent product (10) extends longitudinally along a longitudinal axis (10y) and laterally along a transverse axis (10x), with the transverse axis (10x) conceptually dividing the product into first and second hemispheres (17, 19). The product (10) has a permeable topsheet (12), an impermeable backsheet (14) overlaying the topsheet (12), and an absorbent core (18) disposed between the topsheet (12) and the backsheet (14) for storing fluid secreted by the wearer of the disposable absorbent product (10). Each of a pair of side regions (35, 36) extends laterally outboard of the absorbent core (16), with each side region (35, 36) having a first face (IF, EF) configured to face the wearer during use and a second face (EF, IF) opposite the first face (IF, EF). The product also has at least one skin-friendly adhesive element (50) in the first hemisphere (17, 19) in at least one of the side regions {35, 36) for temporarily attaching the disposable absorbent product (10) to the skin of the wearer.
Abstract:
An absorbent article comprising an absorbent pad and a belt to which the pad is detachably attached and which is intended to be attached to a separate belt that is placed around the waist of the wearer to hold the pad when the article is being worn, wherein the absorbent pad exhibits a chassis comprising a liquid-permeable top sheet and a liquid-impermeable back sheet oriented away from the wearer and an absorbent core between the top sheet and the back sheet. The difference in kinetic coefficients of friction measured with ASTM D 1894-08 standard between the back sheet of the pad and the outwardly oriented surface of the belt is at maximum 0.5. The attachment between the belt and the pad will then not cease due to the movement of the article relative to the surroundings when the belted-article is being used, thereby preventing contamination and leakage caused by detachment.

Abstract:
A waistband structure for an absorbent article is disclosed. The waistband structure extending across at least one of the front and back waist regions and is composed of a filler material and a waistband material positioned over the filler material. The waistband structure may be bonded to at least one of the front and back waist regions via a bond pattern. The bond pattern may vary position in the longitudinal direction and have at least one peak and one valley across the respective waist region. Typically, a distance between the peak and the valley in the bond pattern is between 5 and 100 mm. The bond pattern results in a z-directional height of the waistband structure varying on the respective waist region.
Abstract:
A diaper sheath having a shell with an inner panel and an outer panel forming a front edge, a back edge, a first side edge and a second side edge. The diaper sheath also includes a first intermediate pocket and a second intermediate pocket set along the first side edge and the second side edge respectively, each intermediate pocket having at least one opening. The diaper sheath further includes a first intermediate strip and a second intermediate strip set inside each of the first and second intermediate pockets respectively, the first and second intermediate strips each having an anchor portion attached to an attachment ring, and an elongated portion having a loop formed through a slide, the loop passing through the attachment ring and having a continuously adjustable length selected by moving the slide to a desired position along the elongated portion.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a continuous method for manufacturing belted disposable garments, the method including securing a belt arrangement (317) to a production web (318) comprising further garment components such as cover layers, elastic elements, and the like that may form part of a garment chassis. The invention involves forming releasable transport attachments (16, 16') along a leading edge (10, 10') of the belt arrangements in the production line. The invention also pertains to a belted disposable absorbent garment made by the method. The belted disposable absorbent garments according to the invention are arranged to carry an absorbent either as an integrated absorbent core or as a separate absorbent insert placed and preferably attached inside the garment.
Abstract:
Apparatus and methods of manufacturing absorbent articles suitable for use as training pants or other hygiene products are provided. The absorbent article includes a chassis having a front section, a rear section, and a crotch section extending between the front section and the rear section. The front section is connected to the rear section to define a waist opening, leg openings, and a belly region positioned between the waist opening and the leg openings. The absorbent article also includes an absorbent core coupled to the crotch section of the chassis. An adjustable tensioner is coupled to the chassis and is positioned for snugging the chassis against a wearer of the absorbent article. The tensioner is configured to be adjusted by the wearer from a first tension to a second, selected tension.
Abstract:
