    Abstract: A method for new wireless extender onboarding in a wireless network includes scanning a machine readable indicia on the new wireless extender, transmitting an identifier represented by the machine readable indicia to a network gateway of the wireless network, computing a secure hash of the identifier provided into a proprietary information element, transmitting the secure hash to existing wireless extenders in the wireless network, communicating beacons comprising the secure hash to the new wireless extender, determining a strongest received signal strength indication from received signal strength indications associated with the network gateway and the existing wireless extenders, and initiating a Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) pairing session with one of the network gateway and the existing wireless extenders associated with the strongest received signal strength.

    Abstract: In one embodiment, a switched amplifier is provided to amplify a data transmission. The switched amplifier may use a control signal that is received via a control signal channel in a transmission cable. Also, the switched amplifier may detect signal power to determine whether the data transmission is received at one of a first port and a second port. Data transmissions via the data transmission channel occur in a first direction and a second direction in a same frequency range in a time division multiplex (TDD) mode. Also, the control signal and data transmission are diverted from the transmission cable that transmits a type of signal different from the control signal and the data transmission. The switched amplifier is controlled based on the control signal or the signal power detected. The amplified signal is diverted in the first direction or the second direction via the data transmission channel back to the transmission cable.

    Abstract: In one embodiment, a first group of splitters receives a group of signals from a group of transmitters. Each splitter in the first group of splitters splits a signal into a plurality of signals that are sent to a plurality of multiplexers. A multiplexer in the plurality of multiplexers receives one of the plurality of signals from each splitter in the group of splitters and multiplexes the received one of the plurality of signals into a multiplexed signal. The multiplexer sends the multiplexed signal through a single connection in which upstream signals are sent to a group of nodes and downstream signals are received from the group of nodes. A de-multiplexer de-multiplexes the multiplexed signal into the group of signals and sends the group of signals to the group of nodes via a second group of splitters that are connected to the group of nodes.
