An electronic system for monitoring the state of products and/or goods during their transport is described, characterized in that it comprises: an electronic device (10) comprising means to detect and to register physical and environmental parameters inside a product and/or goods container during their transport, and adapted to provide said physical and environmental parameters in output at the end of the transport, each one of said product being preliminarily identified univocally by one or more univocal identification elements; a management system (18) comprising: means for initializing said electronic device, means for creating a univocal association between said one or more univocal identification elements of products and/or goods and said container, means for receiving and storing descriptive information of said products and/or goods, and said physical and environmental parameters detected by the electronic device at the end of the transport, means for carrying out comparisons between said physical and environmental parameters detected and pre-recorded acceptable thresholds and conditions, in order to detect the trend in time of said physical and environmental parameters detected and alarm conditions, means for communicating said detected data upon request of one or more computer terminals.

Systems and methods for facilitating pick up of items delivered to attended delivery/pickup locations. In various embodiments, the system is configured for confirming an identity of a person attempting to pick up a parcel from an attended delivery/pickup location before releasing the parcel to the person. The system may confirm the identity by receiving identifying information, by confirming a geographic location of a person attempting to retrieve the parcel, etc. In some embodiments, the system may be configure to enable parcel recipients to provide other persons the authorization to retrieve parcels and may be further configured to confirm this authorization before releasing parcels to a person other than the intended parcel recipient.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for re-routing parcels being delivered to attended delivery/pickup locations that have no capacity and/or ability to take delivery of the parcels. In various embodiments, in response to determining that the attended delivery/pickup location doesn't have sufficient capacity and/or ability to accept delivery of the parcel, the system is configured to: (1) re-route the parcel to a different location; or (2) hold the parcel for later delivery. In some embodiments, the system is configured to determine an appropriate response to determining that the attended delivery/pickup location cannot accept delivery of the parcel substantially automatically. In other embodiments, the system is configured to provide the parcel recipient with one or more re-routing options.

A computer system for suggesting attended delivery/pickup locations to individuals (e.g., other than the individual's home and/or office) is disclosed. In various embodiments, the computer system receives location information associated with the individual (e.g., the individual's home, office, etc.) and the locations of various attended delivery/pickup locations (e.g., attended retail stores that have signed up to receive deliveries for individuals). The system determines which (if any) attended delivery/pickup locations are located near the location associated with the individual (e.g., near the individual's home) and which (if any) attended delivery/pickup locations are available to accept parcels for the user. The system then suggests attended delivery/pickup locations to the individual. In various embodiments, the system is configured to enable the user to select a default attended delivery/pickup location and/or an alternative attended delivery/pickup location.

A system is described for authenticating and sharing characteristics of a purchased product (goods or services), comprising at least one means for univocally authenticating at least one product whose authenticity has to be verified, said means being equipped with at least one anti- counterfeiting code univocally associated with the purchased product; processing means comprising at least one data base storing the anti-counterfeiting code in association with the product; means for querying the data base to verify the presence of the anti-counterfeiting code inside the data base and sending at least one message to a user with the verification result; at least one social networking web platform adapted to publish on a user profile the characteristics of the purchased product with authenticity verified by the processing means. A process for authenticating and sharing characteristics of a purchased product is also described.

A new ecosystem may comprise a central system operable to monitor the consumption of a commodity at the premises of a consumer, interface with suppliers and retailers of the commodity and perhaps tank monitors, process data collected therefrom, and implement a payment structure that can alleviate the burden of consumers having to pay for an entire delivery of the commodity - the consumer is only responsible for paying for the amount actually consumed during a time period at a prevailing price during that time. The payment structure can also significantly reduce a retailer's working capital required to float the purchase of the commodity before it is paid by its consumers. The central system may provide a web based user interface through which a consumer can lock in a price to pay for the commodity. Alternatively, the price may be fixed when the commodity was delivered to the consumer's tank.
