Abstract:
The present invention relates to a solution for handling mobility and attachment of users in a wireless communication network (10). User equipment (1) is connected logically to an attachment node (14) at initial attachment and this attachment is determined from an analysis of stored historical mobility patterns of the user equipment. For instance, a mobility management device may be responsible for handling the attachment and for handling the determination of suitable attachment node, e.g. a gateway (5, 7, 8).
Abstract:
A method for wireless communications is provided. The method includes establishing a connection with a gateway device in a wireless network. This includes receiving a configuration packet from the gateway device that identifies home mobility options. The method processes at least one home network address from the home mobility options. The method also includes receiving or processing a home network prefix from the home mobility options.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for registering the location of a terminal in a PS domain in a mobile communication network are provided, in which the terminal transmits a request message requesting registration of the location of the terminal to an MME of the mobile communication network, receives from the MME a response message including an eMSC indicator indicating an eMSC connected to the MME from among a plurality of eMSCs, and registers the location of the terminal to the eMSC indicated by the eMSC indicator included in the response message if the eMSC indicator included in the response message is different from an eMSC indicator stored in the terminal.
Abstract:
A method for enabling autonomous mode routing between mobile entities in a plurality of nested mobile networks includes the steps of: announcing (305) a root mobile entity address; in response to the announcing, receiving (310) a registration request comprising routing information from each mobile entity in at least a portion of a plurality of mobile entities comprising a plurality of nested mobile networks, wherein at least one of the registration requests is received while in an autonomous mode; and generating (315) a root mobile entity binding cache using the routing information from the registration requests, for enabling routing within the plurality of nested mobile networks.
Abstract:
A method and a server acting as a Home Agent are provided for packet switched data transmission between a first mobile node and a correspondent mobile node in a mobile communication system comprising a plurality of mobile networks. Each of the first mobile node and the correspondent mobile node are allocated to respective home networks, and a network server is provided as a home agent to each mobile node, respectively. Then, data packets are routed from the first mobile node to the correspondent mobile node, over a first data tunnel from the first mobile node to any first one of the home agents and over a second data tunnel from said first one of the home agents to the correspondent mobile node without passing the respective other home agent.
Abstract:
A method, a correspondent node and a mobile node are provided for allowing setup of a session between the mobile node and the correspondent node using a new unique indicator in lieu of the home address to enable the correspondent node to uniquely identify the mobile node. The correspondent node uses the new unique indicator to identify the session within its Binding Cache Entry table. The mobile node may change its selection of a home address without impacting its ongoing session. Change of a home address may occur when the mobile node selects a new home agent to serve an ongoing session, or when the mobile node selects a new access interface during an ongoing session.
Abstract:
Redirection of mobile subscriber registrations using location information is described. In one embodiment, the invention includes establishing a data communications connection with a mobile station at a data communications network controller, receiving location information from the mobile station, and redirecting the mobile station to a different network controller based on the received location information.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a mobile agent device in a Mobile Virtual Private Network, said device comprising: - Termination of Mobile IP tunnel (6) from a remotely connecting Mobile Node (1); - Termination of an IPSec VPN tunnel (7) from the remotely connecting Mobile Node; - Dynamic Selection of Internal Mobile IP Home Agent based on user Authentication; - Tunneling of traffic to and/or from the assigned Internal Mobile Home Agent for this Mobile Node; - Provision of extended authentication, after Mobile IP connection establishment, and during the VPN negotiation phase, based on extra user credentials, one-time-password mechanism or similar.
