Abstract:
Pressurized plastic container (40) having the appearance of ribs but with substantially reduced creep and without delamination, i.e., having an enhanced shelf-life compared to prior art ribbed containers. In multilayer containers, the scribe lines reduce delamination of the layer structure so as to avoid loss of transparency and/or barrier properties. The reduction in creep is particularly useful for smaller volume containers having a greater surface area to volume ratio.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The present application provides a bottle. The bottle may include a label panel in the form of a ripple panel having a number of undulating waves and a number of troughs therebetween and a ribbed panel having a number of ribs and a number of lands therebetween.
Abstract:
A container may comprise a tubular body having a rounded sidewall extending between a closed end defining a base portion and an opposite open end surrounded by a rim portion, and one or more sets of grooves defined within the vertical portion of the rounded sidewall. The base portion is configured to support the container in an upright orientation relative to a support surface and wherein the base portion defines a support ring having an at least substantially rounded perimeter. The rounded sidewall comprises a curved base transition region and a vertical portion extending between the perimeter of the base portion and the rim portion along a central axis. Each of the grooves comprises a length and a width, wherein the length is longer than the width. The grooves extend between the base portion and the rim portion along the length.
Abstract:
Hot-fillable plastic bottle including a finished portion, a body portion with at least one circumferential rib configured to resist radial distortion, and a base portion. The base portion comprises a base sidewall, a bottom support surface extending radially inward from the base sidewall and defining a reference plane, an inner support wall extending upwardly from the bottom support surface, and a diaphragm extending radially inward from the inner support wall. The diaphragm comprises an inner wall having an arcuate shape with a radius r1 and a central conical structure, where the diaphragm is in an initial as-formed position with the conical structure above the reference place. The diaphragm is configured to move from an initial as-formed position toward a second position when an internal pressure relative an external pressure exceeds a threshold value.

Abstract:
A metal food can including a metal sidewall is provided. The diameter of the sidewall varies at different axial positions along the sidewall. The can includes a can end coupled to an end of the metal sidewall, and a plurality of circumferential beads formed in the metal sidewall. The shape of each circumferential bead varies based upon the diameter of the section of the sidewall in which the beads are formed.
