Abstract: In one embodiment, a cable distribution system includes a head end connected to a plurality of customer devices through a transmission network that includes a remote fiber node that converts digital data to analog data suitable for said plurality of customer devices. The remote fiber node includes a processor. The remote fiber node resetting software applications of a control plane of the remote fiber node in a manner free from impacting providing services to the customers as a result of resetting software applications. The remote fiber node executing the reset software applications.

Abstract: A cable distribution system that includes a head end connected to a plurality of customer devices through a transmission network that includes a remote fiber node that converts digital data to analog data suitable for the plurality of customer devices. The remote fiber node includes a processor. The remote fiber node receives a software image containing (i) a hardware image, (ii) a primary boot loader, (iii) a kernel, (iv) a software dataplane for a dataplane, and (v) software applications for a control plane. Based upon the file name of the software image selectively using at least some of (i) a hardware image, (ii) a primary boot loader, (iii) a kernel, (iv) a software dataplane for a dataplane, and (v) software applications for a control plane, in resetting the remote physical device.

Abstract: There is provided a method for handling the running of software in a network, which is performed by a first node (10) in response to a first request (40) to run software using at least one infrastructure component and at least one function component. The second request (50) is to deploy the at least one infrastructure component and comprises information indicative of at least one function-as-a-service (FaaS) platform implemented by the at least one infrastructure component to be used to run the software. Transmission of a third request (60) is initiated towards a third node (30). The third node (30) manages the at least one FaaS platform. The third request (60) is to configure the at least one FaaS platform to run the software.

Abstract: According to one aspect of the present disclosure a system which allows a network service provider to address providing service assurances to comply with each service level agreement (SLA) agreed to with customers is provided. A translation system accesses one or more network service agreements and parses the one or more network service agreements into a processing format. The system then determines which network services are specified by the network service agreement, and service level agreements for each service. The translation system then generates one or more service level objectives for each service level agreement and one or more service level values for each service level objective. One or more metrics are then selected to be associated with each value to be measured to determine compliance with the service level agreement. The system then stores each of the service level agreements, objectives, values and metrics as objects.

The processor (141a) is further configured to generate the security sensitive provisioning data (150) based on the group context. The provisioning control apparatus (140a) further comprises a communication interface (143a) configured to provide the security sensitive provisioning data (150) to the provisioning equipment server (160).

Abstract: Techniques and mechanisms for using a domain-specific language (DSL) to express overall network behaviors by describing what network-level behavior is desired. A compiler breaks down the DSL into portions of executable code that are to be run at different network devices and locations of the network architecture. In some instances, the executable code output from the compiler may be used to determine what network functions, network devices, and/or network topology is required to implement the overall network behavior that is desired. In other examples, an inventory and/or topology of available network devices may be fed into the compiler, and the compiler may compile the DSL into executable code that is able to be supported by the inventory and/or topology of available network devices. Thus, the DSL can be used to describe overall network behaviors to easily generate executable code that is used to implement a desired network-level behavior.
