摘要: An efficient structure and methodology are provided for communicating in a network using a contract implemented in a packet or frame. In various embodiments, a user can generate a contract clause having a constraint for communicating in the network, and determine a communication layer at which to process the constraint during communication in the network. The user device can insert the contract clause in a position in a packet corresponding to the communication layer and can transmit the packet from the user device. In various embodiments, a network node that receives a packet can identify a contract clause in a packet and can process a constraint from the contract clause. The network node can track performance of the constraint and provide accountability in response to the tracking of the performance with respect to terms associated with the constraint in the contract clause.

摘要: Systems and methods for network bandwidth optimization, including transmitting sensor data from one or more sensors over a wireless network into a generated network slice, submitting a Quality-of-Service (QoS) request for one or more applications by specifying desired network slice characteristics, and predicting network bandwidth needed for granting the QoS request for the one or more applications using a cost function based on magnitude, direction, and frequency of error. Time-varying network bandwidth usage is continuously monitored, and new QoS requests for the one or more applications are periodically requested based on the monitoring. An updated prediction for updated bandwidth needed for the new QoS request is generated using the cost function, and network bandwidth reservations are iteratively adjusted based on the updated prediction for the new QoS request to provide an amount of network resources to the one or more applications to support the new QoS request.

摘要: The present disclosure describes providing robust network connectivity by creating a virtual overlay network over a plurality of communication network channels, such that if there is a failover on a first network, a failover overlay tunnel may be used to prevent an interruption in service when the first network drops. An SD-WAN remote may be deployed at an edge location of a network and an SD-WAN base may be installed at a client premises. A first overlay tunnel using a first communication transport may be utilized as a default route and a second overlay tunnel using a second communication transport may be used as a failover route.

Based on at least one of the resource pool information and the feedback on quality, it is evaluated whether or not the one or more targets are achievable (S107).

The utility fog includes a secure utility system configured for executing a private utility application and a first edge intelligence device configured for executing a first subset of software applications. Each software application is configured to manage endpoints in the mesh network or process data collected by the mesh network. The mesh network includes the endpoints and an edge intelligence device configured for executing a second subset of the software applications that is different from the first subset of software applications.

摘要: Some embodiments of the invention provide a method for network-aware load balancing for data messages traversing a software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) (e.g., a virtual network) including multiple connection links between different elements of the SD-WAN. The method includes receiving, at a load balancer in a multi-machine site, link state data relating to a set of SD-WAN datapaths including connection links of the multiple connection links. The load balancer, in some embodiments, provides load balancing for data messages sent from a machine in the multi-machine site to a set of destination machines (e.g., web servers, database servers, etc.) connected to the load balancer over the set of SD-WAN datapaths. The load balancer selects, for the data message, a particular destination machine (e.g., a frontend machine for a set of backend servers) in the set of destination machines by performing a load balancing operation based on the received link state data.
