Disclosed herein is an oil soluble composition comprising a copolymer having repeating units of: (i) about 0.1-99.9 wt . % of at least one monomer selected from at least one hydrophobically modified (alk) acrylate moiety; and (ii) about 0.1-99.9 wt. % of at least one monomer derived from at least one functionalized or unfunctionalized acryloyl moiety and at least one lactam moiety. Also, disclosed herein is a mineral oil soluble personal care and fragrance composition comprising such copolymer, a fragrance delivery system and method of delivering fragrance.

Disclosed herein is a personal care conditioning and/or styling composition for keratin substrate comprising: (A) at least one conditioning and/or styling copolymer obtained from polymerizing: (i) about 0.1 wt. % to 99.9 wt. % of at least one cationic or pseudo-cationic monomer selected from the group consisting of acrylamidopropyl trimethylammonium chloride (APT AC) and/or diallyl dimethyl ammonium chloride (DADMAC); and (ii) about 0.1 wt. % to 99.9 wt. % of at least one monomer comprising at least one functionalized or unfunctionalized acryloyl moiety and at least one lactam moiety; (B) at least one cosmetically acceptable excipient; and (C) optionally, at least one effective amount of personal care active ingredient. Also disclose is a process for preparing such composition and method of use thereof.

A hair styling polymer derived from polymerizing (a) at least one monomer comprising at least one functionalized or unfunctionalized acryloyl moiety and at least one lactam moiety; (b) at least one monomer selected from the group consisting of functionalized and unfunctionalized alkyl (alk)acrylates; (c) at least one functionalized or unfunctionalized olefinically-unsaturated acid monomer or a salt thereof; and (d) optionally at least one crosslinking agent. The present invention provides multifunctional amphiphilic copolymers having the structure set out below formula (A): wherein w, x, y, and z are molar percentages, the sum of which equals 100%; wherein R 1 has the formula -(CH 2 CH 2 O) n -R 2 ,where R 2 is hydrogen or a C 1 -C 10 alkyl group; R3 has the formula -(CH 2 ) a -CH 3 ; R 4 is hydrogen or methyl; R 5 has the formula -(OCH 2 CH 2 ) b -O-(CH 2 ) c - CH 3 or -(OCH 2 CH 2 ) b -O-C 6 H 5 ; and n is an integer ranging from 1 to about 10, a is an integer ranging from 1 to about 21, b is an integer ranging from 1 to about 23, and c is an integer ranging from 1 to about 21. The present invention also provides compositions comprising the multifunctional amphiphilic copolymers including spray drift control compositions including agricultural compositions, consumer compositions, industrial compositions, and mining compositions. The present invention also provides methods for preparing and using the multifunctional amphiphilic copolymers.

In accordance with the present invention there is provided an oil-in-water emulsion sunscreen composition comprising (a) a UV active, (b) a first emulsifier having an HLB value less than 5 and (c) optionally a second emulsifier having an HLB value greater than 5 present in an amount of less than 0.2% w/w of the composition. The oil-in-water sunscreen composition is characterized by the absence of an emulsifiable polymer and is capable of providing little to no whitening when applied to wet skin.

The present invention provides a fixative polymer derived from about 55-60% by weight of ethyl acrylate; about 30-50% by weight of (meth) acrylic acid; about 1-5% by weight of an associative monomer comprising a methacrylic ester with an oxyalkylated ethylenic unsaturation terminated by a hydrophobic, non-aromatic branched chain with 12 to 22 carbon atoms; and about 0.01- 4% by weight of a cross-linking agent, personal care compositions comprising these fixative polymers and the use of these polymers in hair styling products.

The present invention provides a coprocessed excipient composition and a method of producing the same. The coprocessed excipient comprises vinyl lactam derived polymer and a deagglomerated coprocessing agent. The coprocessing agent is fumed silica, colloidal silica or silicon dioxide. The coprocessed excipient is prepared by a continuous process and has a Brookfield cohesion of less than 0.12 kPa, a bulk density of at least 0.249 gram/milliliter and a flow property as measured by Johanson flow rate number increase from 1.1 to 5.0 fold.

This invention provides hydrophobic compositions for forming hydrophobic toner receptive coatings on a substrate. The hydrophobic coating compositions for forming toner receptive coatings on a substrate contain a hydrophobic polymer comprising: (a) a maleic anhydride monomer, (b) a non-reactive hydrophobic monomer moiety, and (c) a solvent. The coating compositions may further comprise (d) a substituted or unsubstituted monomer comprising a cyclic ether or an acetoacetate, or mixtures thereof. The invention also provides compositions suitable for addition to toner to enhance adhesion and toner substrates coated with the hydrophobic coating compositions. A representative hydrophobic polymer structure is set out below, wherein x, y, and z are defined herein.
