Abstract:
A method for decreasing formation of one or more chemiexcitation-induced dark cyclobutane pyrimidine dimers (dCPDs) in a cell or DNA molecule in a subject, who has been exposed to UV radiation, is provided. The method comprises administering to the subject an effective amount of a dCPD quencher within 8 hours after the exposure. The dCPD quencher is selected from the group consisting of ellagic acid, Porphyra Umbilicalis Extract (including Porphyra Umbilicalis Extract (and) Sodium Lactate (and) Lecithin), mycosporine-like amino acids (MAAs) and synthetic analogues thereof, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Chrysanthemum Morifolium Leaf Extract, ferulic acid, fused-ring cyanoacrylates, curcumin, epigallocatechin gallate, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract (and) Acacia Catechu Wood Extract, sorbic acid, Polygonum Cuspidatum Root Extract, Acacia Catechu Extract, dipicolinic acid, squalene, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, beta-carotene and combinations thereof. The dCPD quencher may be administered to the subject in the absence of UV radiation.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition comprising (1) at least one aminosilicone compound; and (2) at least one poly(carbodiimide) compound, wherein the amount of the aminosilicone compound is 3% by weight or more relative to the total weight of the composition. It is possible for the present invention to provide keratin fibers such as hair with easy-to-style manageability which can last for a long period of time such as up to a month after treatment, and can last even after home routines such as shampooing.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an in particular cosmetic or dermatological compositions comprising, in a physiologically acceptable support: • a) at least one merocyanine of formula (1) or (2) (1), (2) • b) at least one oily phase comprising at least one polyalkylene glycol of formula (4): (4) and to their use for caring for and/or making up a keratin material.
Abstract:
The disclosure relates to sunscreen compositions having a synergistic combination of ultraviolet light (UV) filtering agents that provide a high sun protection factor (SPF). Compositions according to the disclosure have high SPF values without requiring high total amounts of UV filtering agents. Furthermore, the disclosure relates to methods of using the described compositions for protecting keratinous substances such as skin and hair from UV radiation.

Abstract:
A composition for protecting from ultraviolet radiation is disclosed. The composition comprises a filter and an effectiveness indicator responsive to the reduction of effectiveness protection. The purpose of this invention is the creation of a cosmetic cream/lotion/ gel, hydro alcoholic solution and anhydrous compound in addition to polymer and mylar films that will indicate the presence of ultra-violet light when the invention is applied onto human skin. It does so by changing color(s) when exposed to ultra violet light in the range between 280 to 400 nanometers. In so doing it will indicate the amount of ultra violet exposure to human skin.
