Abstract:
A liquid container (10) has an outer wall (12) to which is mounted a liquid material receptacle (18). The liquid material receptacle has an open end (20) and a closed end (24). The open end (20) of the liquid material receptacle (18) is sealed by a membrane (34). Further, the liquid material receptacle (18) tapers inwardly from the open end (20) to the closed end (24)
Abstract:
The present invention is a packaging article that includes a first chamber (24) defined by a sealed connection between a first film (14) and a second film (32) , a second chamber (30) defined by a sealed connection between a third film (34) and a fourth film (16) , where the third film at least partially abuts the second film, and a third chamber (26) defined by a sealed connection between the first film and the fourth film.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a capsule for storage, mixing and dispensing of materials, preferably dental materials like glass ionomer cement. The capsule comprises a capsule body member that provides a main chamber and comprises a dispensing opening; and an applicator member being slideably accommodated in said capsule body member, said applicator member providing an auxiliary chamber. An activator member is slideably accommodated in said applicator member.
Abstract:
The invention relates to packaging (1) for storing at least two substances in separate chambers, comprising: a first chamber (3) which contains a flowable first substance, (5) and a second chamber (7). The first chamber (3) and the second chamber (7) are respectively formed by liquid-tight sections of a base film (11) which are sealed together, and a cover film (13). The cover film (13) is a composite film comprising a first blocking film (21) made of a metal material and the base film (11) is a composite film comprising a second blocking film (29) made of a metal material. The metal material of the second blocking film (29) is softer than that of the first blocking film. The base film (11) and the cover film (13) are sealed to each other in such a way in an area connecting the first chamber (3) to the second chamber (7), that by applying external pressure on the first chamber (3), (a) the sealing connection between the films (11, 13) is selectively dissolved in the above-mentioned region (15), (b) a through-opening channel (25) is formed between the first and the second chambers, and (c) the first substance (5) can be transferred from the first chamber to the second chamber.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A nozzle for storage and application of liquid dental material, such as primer or adhesive, to a preparation site at a patient's teeth, gums or mouth. The nozzle includes a hollow nozzle for containing the liquid dental material. The hollow nozzle can include a flocked, open tip through which the liquid dental material is dispensed. The nozzle also includes a storage block having a plurality of cavities formed therein. A plurality of hollow nozzles can be inserted into the cavities to form substantially air-tight seals between the open tips of the hollow nozzles and the exterior of the cavities. An end of the hollow nozzles opposite from the open tip and exposed above the block includes a breakable seal. Accordingly, the hollow nozzles can be stored in the block for an extended period of time. To apply the liquid dental material to a preparation site, an applicator can be attached to the end of the hollow nozzle exposed above the block. The applicator is adapted to break the breakable seal and force the liquid dental material from the interior of the hollow nozzle through the open tip and onto an application site.
Abstract:
A dental cartridge (10) for dispensing a dental cartridge substance (26). The dental cartridge (10) has a dispensing region (18) which is of substantially constant internal diameter. The dispensing region (18) is at least partially curved. A deformable piston (24) is provided and arranged to pass through the curved portion of the dispensing region (18).
Abstract:
The invention provides a storage stable dental composition comprising a volatile organic solvent and a polymerizable material enclosed by a package, which includes a cover and a container made of a polymer such as a copolymer of a cycloolefin and an open chain olefin. In accordance with an embodiment of the invention is provided a stored packaged dental product by the process including: enclosing a dental composition in a package with at least a substantial portion of an injection molded polymer such as a thermoplastic copolymer of a cycloolefin and an open chain olefin, and storing the dental composition in the package for at least 1 week.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a mixing capsule (11) for separately storing and mixing two components (37, 41) and for dispensing a dental material mixed therein. A closed connecting element (29) located in a partition wall (25) between a first chamber (31) and a second chamber (33) is perforated with an activating pin (17) and the liquid component (37) is then conveyed from the first chamber (31) through the connection element (29) into the mixing chamber (33') containing the other component (41). The mixing chamber (33') can be enlarged to match the volume of the liquid component so that the initial pressure can be maintained or, preferably, a lower pressure level can be regulated in the mixing chamber (33'). The first chamber (31) is provided between a cylinder (13) and a perfectly fitting hollow piston (19) guided therein while the second chamber (33) is located inside the hollow piston (19). The volume of the first chamber (31) is negligible in relation to the length of the capsule (11) after both components (37, 41) have been combined and mixed. A greater amount of dental material can be produced in the capsule (11) while its dimensions remain the same, wherein said material is not subjected to an overpressure before it is squeezed out.
Abstract:
A dispensing cartridge for use with a hand-held applicator has a chamber with a first section and a second section. The second section has a smaller cross-sectional area than the first section such that the chamber has a stepped configuration. A piston is slidably received in the chamber and has a head portion that is received in the second section and a tail portion that is received in the first section. As a force is applied to the tail portion, the head portion advances to expel material through an outlet opening. The cartridge is especially useful for dispensing compositions having a relatively high viscosity such as dental pastes and the like.
