Abstract:
The invention relates to a device (100') for actuating at least one valve (4) in an internal combustion engine. The device comprises a camshaft arrangement (200') comprising a hollow outer shaft and an inner shaft, which is concentrically mounted inside of the outer shaft to be pivotable relative to the outer shaft. A first cam lobe (206) is mounted on one of the inner shaft and the outer shaft in a rotationally fixed manner and a second cam lobe (208) is mounted on the other of the inner shaft and the outer shaft in a rotationally fixed manner. The device further comprises a rocker arm arrangement (300') comprising a first primary rocker arm (302), which is arranged to follow the first cam lobe (206) and arranged to actuate a first valve (4) when it follows the first cam lobe. The rocker arm arrangement (300') further comprises an auxiliary rocker arm (306), which is arranged to follow the second cam lobe (208). The auxiliary rocker arm is adapted to actuate the first primary rocker arm (302) so that an opening time of the first valve (4) may be extended by the auxiliary rocker arm (306) following the second cam lobe (208).
Abstract:
A valve device for an internal combustion engine (1) includes a camshaft (16), a cam (17), a control shaft (15), an input arm (14), a first rocker arm (13a), a second rocker arm (13b), a first valve (603a), a second valve (603b), and a slider (18). The input arm (14) is configured such that a cam torque of the cam (17) is transmitted thereto. The slider (18) is configured to allow the input arm (14) to be supported by the control shaft (15). The slider (18) is configured to support the first rocker arm (13a) in a power transmittable manner such that the cam torque transmitted to the input arm (14) is transmitted to the first rocker arm (13a). The slider (18)includes a torsion portion (23) configured to connect the first rocker arm (13a) with the second rocker arm (13b) such that the cam torque transmitted to the first rocker arm (13a) is transmitted to the second rocker arm (13b) via the torsion portion (23).
Abstract:
A number of variations may include a product comprising a latching solenoid comprising: a valve; a spring operatively connected to the valve; a base plate adjacent the valve, wherein the base plate is constructed and arranged to maintain residual magnetism; an armature adjacent the base 10 plate and operatively connected to the spring; a pin disposed within the armature and operatively connected to the valve; wherein the latching solenoid includes a coil, wherein when the latching solenoid is energized the coil pulls the armature in a first direction toward the base plate; and wherein when the latching solenoid is energized the base plate becomes residually 15 magnetized so that when the armature moves in the first direction toward the base plate the armature magnetically latches to the base plate and remains attached to the base plate when the latching solenoid is de-energized.
Abstract:
An internal combustion engine includes: a plurality of cams that are used for driving a valve; a cam-switching type variable operated-valve structure that has a locker arm portion and a plurality of hydraulic linking structures, the locker arm portion having a plurality of oscillation portions that individually oscillate according to cam profiles of the cams and mediate power conducted from a camshaft having the cams to the valve, the plurality of linking structures performing linking and canceling the linking between two of the plurality of oscillation portions with a lock member, the variable operated-valve structure selecting a usage cam that is used for driving the valve from the cams; and a determination unit that determines at least one of a condition of the lock member and a switching phase of the usage cam according to the condition of the lock member based on changing of a hydraulic pressure according to the switching of the usage cam.

Hierdurch können die Öffnungszeiten der Ventile in bisher nicht bekannter Weise beeinflusst werden.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for actuating engine valves are disclosed. The systems may include a rocker arm having an adjustable length push tube mounted to a first end and multiple contact surfaces for an engine valve bridge at a second end. An actuator piston assembly may be provided in the rocker arm between the first and second rocker arm ends. The actuator piston assembly is adapted to extend from the rocker arm under the influence of hydraulic pressure and actuate an inboard engine valve through the engine valve bridge when an actuator piston is locked into an extended position.
