Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving control information in a wireless communication system are disclosed. The control information transmission method includes masking a Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) by a CRC mask including a bit stream of a predetermined length and an indicator indicating the bit stream, and transmitting control information including the masked CRC to at least one Mobile Station (MS). The indicator indicates whether the bit stream included in the CRC mask includes a Random Access IDentifier (RAID).
Abstract:
Techniques for supporting communication for wireless devices in a wireless network are described. The wireless network may support a first physical channel having a first minimum SNR for reliable reception. Some wireless devices may require operation at a lower SNR. In an aspect, low SNR operation may be supported by transmitting data on a second physical channel that can be reliably received at a second minimum SNR that is lower than the first minimum SNR. In another aspect, low SNR operation may be supported by transmitting data on both the first and second physical channels. In yet another aspect, low SNR operation may be supported by transmitting data in multiple instances of the first and/or second physical channel. In yet another aspect, low power operation may be supported by transmitting the second physical channel in a portion of the system bandwidth instead of across the entire system bandwidth.
Abstract:
An uplink ACK/NACK signaling method and apparatus in carrier aggregation environment are disclosed. The method for performing a HARQ procedure by a user equipment in a wireless communication system includes receiving one or more control channels carrying downlink scheduling information from a base station (BS), wherein each control channel carries information indicating a total number of control channels transmitted from the BS to the UE, and determining whether the total number of control channels transmitted to the UE is identical to the number of control channels received at the UE.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving a preamble having sequence information for an OFDM system is provided. The preamble transmission method includes generating a preamble block including at least one frame having a header with a known sequence and a code block containing control information and transmitting the preamble block mapped to Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) cells by repeating in frequency axis direction.
Abstract:
Aspects of the invention provide apparatuses, computer media, and methods for supporting the broadcast of extended signaling data over a network. With an aspect of the invention, all of the extended signaling data may be distributed over multiple data frames. With another aspect, only dynamic signaling redundancy data is distributed over different data frames, where systematic information (for example, configurable signaling data) is transmitted in accordance with traditional systems. In addition, backwards compatibility with traditional systems may be supported, in which extended signaling is contained in an extension field. Error correction code may be applied to the extended signaling in concert with different codes. With another aspect, only extended signaling is supported without backwards compatibility with traditional systems.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of transmitting and a method of receiving signals and corresponding apparatus. One aspect of the present invention relates to an efficient layer 1 (L1) signaling and a receiver using the efficient L1 signaling for an efficient cable broadcasting.

Abstract:
A wireless communication terminal including a controller coupled to a transceiver wherein the controller is configured to determine a synchronization based on a mapping of channel state information to decoder error rate corresponding to a hypothetical control code word, to attempt to decode a control codeword in a received signal, and to conclude that an out of synchronization event has not occurred if the control codeword is decoded successfully regardless of an indication of the mapping.
Abstract:
Aspects of the invention provide apparatuses, computer media, and methods for supporting the broadcast of signaling data over a network. Signaling data is encoded, partitioned into M signaling segments, and distributed over M corresponding data frames. A data stream with the partitioned signaling data is transmitted through a digital terrestrial television broadcasting system, where the partitioned signaling data may include physical layer configurable data. The number of distributed signaling segments may be determined from a predetermined value or from a parameter contained in pre-signaling data. The number of physical layer pipes supported by signaling data may be increased by separating the static signaling part and the dynamic signaling part, dividing static signaling part into signaling segments, and interleaving the signaling segments over the data frames. The number of physical layer pipes can be further increased by adding at least one P2 symbol.
